MAANFKRB.MOD - Parked at fuel depot.
MAANFKRB.DOC - This file.
This is the second in a series of .SC1's that will be available from me for
the South Western Massachusetts area & SD-12. The .SC1 boundry is realitively
small at 5-NM for the reason that it should not interfer with other .SC1's
already uploaded to CompuServes' FSFORUM (GO FSFORUM).
Massachusetts has become one of the best covered areas on SD-12. Thanks to
the efforts of many. Look for .SC1's done by Gordon Fox (GF), Nels Anderson,
(NA), Jim Ross (JR) and others as our files SHOULD all work together. Or
search the FSFORUM section 6 on the state (MA).
The .MOD file included places you in the Cessna facing the taxiway that leads
you to runway 18/36 PARKED. (Remember: To start your engine <M,5> or click
with the mouse on the MAGS box until "start" appears.) The Cessna instrument
panel is set up with NAV1 tuned to the VOR @ BOS. NAV2 is set to the ILS LOC
approach @ OWD. (Download MAAOWD.ZIP from FSFORUM) ADF is set to the STOGE
NDB which (is not on the SD-12 New York Area Chart, but is there none the
less) serves as the Outer Marker (LOM) for OWD RWY 35.
NORFOLK, MA is a small public use airport that always offers a place to
practice those cross wind takeoffs and landings. (I've been flying a radio
controlled plane there since April 1991 and every Sunday there has always been
a light to moderate crosswind.) NKF isn't the correct designation for this
airport, but it's one I've made up for the time being or until someone is able
to give me the proper designation. All of the NFK terminal buildings, fueling
stations, hangars etc. are included. The two ponds that are included in the
scenery are known as Kingsbury Pond and Populatic Pond, but at the moment I
can't remember which one is the smaller of the two.
I would recommend that you MERGE this file with the Norwood (OWD) file because
they're so close together.
For those of you with the excellent FS flight planner RMMFP the following
information will be helpful in adding the airport to the SD-12.fpd:
