Note: Before you even THINK about trying to use these scenery files,
go to the VIEW menu, go to the DISPLAY SELECT menu, and then set
complexity to COMPLEX (In other words: type 2, E, 2, <spacebar>).
This will help keep scenery objects from flashing on and off.

P H O T O - M O D E S !
These mode files are designed to give you a snapshot style view of
some of the best features of the scenery. These modes are full screen
external tower views of a plane doing a low pass through the most
picturesque areas. When you first load the mode, the simulation will
be PAUSED, giving you a nice simulated photograph effect.
Press the "P" key to take the simulation out of PAUSE. This will put the
PHOTO-MODE into motion! Be sure to leave your joystick in the center (null)
position when you unpause the mode -- the plane is trimmed for
level flight (or to be climbing) so it SHOULD successfully fly
past your vantage point and continue on into the distance. Press the "S"
key three times to put yourself in the cockpit and take over as pilot!
Note: If the plane crashes after unpausing, reset the mode and try again.
It should work the second time.
CHURCH.MOD "Church Buzz" This might not be the best view
of the church, but I like the way
the plane zips up over the town.
Check out the stained glass window
on another pass!
BARNSTRM.MOD "Barnstorm" Farmer Bob's cow is going to drop
dead from a heart attack if you
run this mode too many times.
ROAD.MOD "Country Road" Now if only I can get that truck
running!
CITYLITE.MOD "City Lights" This one is guaranteed to push the
limits of frame rate performance.
Chase plane view on this one.

The Other Modes:
SOME1.MOD This mode will put you on the runway at Walker field
ready for takeoff into SOME1.SC1. If you have the Sound,
Graphics and Aircraft upgrade package, I suggest you switch
to the Ultra-Light, since this will give you a nice steady
platform from which to view the scenery. When you take off,
keep your altitude just above the tree line and fly straight
out. You will soon see the town of Ashleyville ahead to your
right. If you follow the road around the lake, it will lead
you to the "Canyon of Death". Explore everywhere! You may
find some surprises.
SOME2.MOD You are in the Experimental Jet on the runway at Hursty
International. It is night. The city of Conway lies ahead
on an island in the middle of a lake. Try to find the
traffic jam near the clover leaf.

A few words about the scenery:
These files actually began as an extended doodle during work.
It is a completely imaginary world that has nothing at all
to do with Alaska, but that at least makes an attempt to look
realistic.
Originally, it was all one file. I split it in
half and decided to make SOME1.SC1 a place to experiment with
SEE custom library objects, and SOME2.SC1 a place to learn
about night effects. Therefore, you won't find any night effects
in SOME1, and SOME2 doesn't really look that great in the light of day.
There are two airports, one in each scenery region.
Walker Field (SOME1.SC1) has a VOR with the frequency 110.00.
Hursty International (SOME2.SC1) has a VOR with frequency 111.00.
You can find your way from one file to the other by following the
appropriate VOR.
This update was really a lesson in using SEE04. I learned an awful lot
in the past couple of weeks, and it has really been inspiring to
realize that it is becoming possible to create nearly anything that I
can imagine. I would like to say THANKS to Laemming Wheeler for first
of all creating SEE, and second, for his personal assistance in bailing
me out when I was experiencing total brain melt down.
