SEEPRO.DOC -- how to use SEE in the power mode
==========
SEE run in the power mode will do much, much more than in EZC
mode, including adding custom ATIS and other communications, and
incorporating scenery elements (not available from ASD) from op-
tional SEE libraries.
REGISTERING SEE:
----------------
SEE version 03 is shareware. If you'd like to add SEE to your
collection of FS enhancement software, please send the $15
registration fee to:
Kyrna and Shane Wheeler
Kikiware
17 Ferguson Road
Warren, NJ 07060
It would be helpful if you identify which program you are regis-
tering and where you picked it up (and CIS id, if applicable).
Version 3 is a no-cost update for folks who are already regis-
tered for previous versions of SEE.
Thanks to those who have already registered and welcome to those
about to - Laemming Wheeler, CIS id: 71317,2616
INSTALLATION:
-------------
If you haven't done it already copy the two files SEE03.EXE and
EZC.DAT to either
a) your flight sim directory, or
b) a SEE directory (e.g.-- C:\FS4\SEE\)
Both of these files must be in the same directory!
Copy all the DAT and MAC files to the same directory SEE03.EXE is
located in.
Determine where you'd like to keep your SEE library files and
create a directory if necessary. Copy the example SEE library
files (.SC0) to this directory.
Copy the SC1 and MOD files to your FS directory.
RUNNING SEE WITH A COMMAND LIST (.DAT file):
--------------------------------------------
With the DOS prompt in the same directory that SEE03.EXE resides
in, invoke SEE by typing
SEE03 {name of DAT file}<enter>
e.g.- SEE03 ATIS.DAT<enter>
e.g.- SEE03 ATIS<enter>
WRITING SEE COMMAND LISTS (.DAT files):
---------------------------------------
You may put together a specific list of instructions to tell SEE
how to enhance a specific scenery file including adding custom
ATIS and COM messages and scenery library elements. To do this
you create a list of commands in the sequence you want SEE to ex-
ecute them in.
Such an instruction sequence is called a SEE COMMAND LIST. The
COMMAND LIST is an ASCII file whose name ends in .DAT that you
create using a text editor or the SEEPLUS package by Joe Lincoln.
All the TUTORIAL (DAT) files are examples of legal COMMAND LISTS.
The structure of these lists is important:
Beginning: set up input and output directories and files
(INDIR, OUTDIR, INPUT, OUTPUT)
set up library directory (LIBDIR)
ask for report (REPORT)
Middle: commands for SEE
may be mixed with comments
End: tell SEE to save the enhanced file (SAVE)
tell SEE this is the end of the commands (END)
Beyond: documentation if desired
You may learn all about these commands by looking at and playing
with the tutorial DAT files and from the reference documentation
and FROM EXPERIMENTING.
