SEE CITY Scenery Rod Conklin 76525, 3706
This is a scenery file that came about as a result of my "doodling"
with the new SEE04 package to learn some of its features. The scenery isn't
great, but I thought it came out rather neat and shows some of the things that
can be done with the new version of see.
There are two scenery areas -- a city and a hanger area -- with
mod files and dynamics for both. The scenery changes extensively with
day, dusk and night, so explore each time of day. I made no attempt to
make the scenery exactly compatible with Willard airport, so the hanger
scenery won't exactly match the ramp area.
A Note to Users of FS4/ASD Who are not familiar With
The SEE programs:
SEE (Scenery Enhancement Editor) is a program that lets you
create custom shapes and objects, day and night lighting effects
and other special effects with ASD scenery files. It makes the files
much more realistic than the standard version. If you are interested
in purchasing the program, go to FSFORUM library 6 and download SEE04.ZIP.
It contains information on how to order the program. BTW, I don't get
no bucks for this endorsement, I just think it is a great program.
To run this scenery:
Go into ASD and select the SEECITY scenery file and the SEECITY
Dynamic scenery file.
Select either HANGER.MOD or CITY.MOD
For the best viewing, I recommend that you set the SCENERY COMPLEXITY
option (option 2) of menu 2.E to COMPLEX and turn off the APPROACH
LIGHTING option (option 4). When ASD encounters dense scenery,
it turns off groups of it unless the complexity option is set
to complex.
Note: For those of you that are not familiar with SEE-enhanced
files, some SEE-enhanced scenery objects cannot be edited directly
with the ASD editor (option J). Attempting to edit these objects
will sometimes cause the program to "lockup" and it will be necessary
to reboot the pc.
