  1. OPERATION RHINO
  2.  
  3. German fighter production hinges on
  4. the production of many things and
  5. one of them is engines. The Germans
  6. have recently introduced new versions
  7. of the formidable Fw190 fighter. One
  8. of the plants that build the engine 
  9. for this new version is located in 
  10. Kiel, which is located on the northern
  11. German peninsula of Schleswig-Holstein.

  13.               Mission Orders
  14.  
  15. Lead your group of B17s on a circuitous
  16. route to the the target that brings you
  17. in from over the North Sea. Bomb the
  18. Kiel engine factory.
  19.  
  20. Enemy opposition is expected to be 
  21. fierce. Your fighter escort will only be
  22. with you for a short while once you
  23. cross the enemy coast before they have
  24. to turn for home because of fuel
  25. restrictions.
  26.  
  27. Bomber command doesn't expect this to
  28. be a picnic and does expect you to fight
  29. your way into the target and out again.
