PROGRAM: JOYCAL.EXE V1.00
PURPOSE: Professional Joystick calibration.
DETAIL: Joysticks are not created equal, there are various configurations
availible for many applications. The quality and capabilties of Joysticks
vary from simple to the most ornate.
This program was written for joysticks that take full advantage of
any software specifically developed to be enhanced by the use of a joystick,
by allowing precise adjustment at the center most X-Y coordinate.
Joysticks with positive-true-positioning and optional self-centering
modes of operation are of the type this package is aimed at. These offer the
best results when working with any package requiring accurate stepping and
smooth roll, also the various MOUSE/JOYSTICK drivers availble yield an even
more useful life for the tired old joysick.
USE: This package handles two joysticks simultaneously, the screen displays
joysick "A" on the left and "B" on the right as indicated. Both displays will
be at zero (0) if no joysticks are attached else some appreciatable reading
will be displayed.
For proper operation a game adapter must be installed in the computer,
the joystick(s) must be plugged in, then "Joycal" can be started. Following
the instructions of the joysticks manufacturer for centering adjustments, the
screen will show variations in the X-Y coordinate, when centered, the readings
for both coordinates will be equal, and furthermore they will be half of the
maximum attainable reading when the stick is moved to its lateral extreme. For
example, if the maximum output was equal to 200 when the stick is moved to the
full bottom right, then when the unit is centered properly both X-Y readings
will be at 100.
P.S. - Happy wrists to all............
