  1. Massacre at Magdeburg

  3. The Luftwaffe has been on the run
  4. and your bombers have been ranging
  5. free over the Reich for quite some
  6. time now. However, things may be
  7. swinging the other way. The last 
  8. few raids over Germany there have
  9. been reports of new aircraft that
  10. have phenomenal speeds joining the
  11. intercepting packs of Luftwaffe
  12. Fw190s. These planes are so fast
  13. that the gunners report that the
  14. power turrets aren't fast enough 
  15. to track these new aircraft as 
  16. they fly past.

  18.              Mission Orders
  19.  
  20. You are the lead and low group in a
  21. six plane formation of B17s. Your
  22. mission starts over Oschersleben on
  23. your way to your first waypoint and
  24. your turn to the bomb run on 
  25. Magdeburg. Your group will bomb three
  26. targets in Magdeburg: the oil refinery
  27. the engine factory, and the railroad
  28. center. Your target as the lead group
  29. is the oil refinery. As you approach
  30. Magdeburg your group will split up
  31. shortly to bomb their targets. You 
  32. should fly due north and regroup at
  33. a point about 4 miles north of the
  34. city.

  36. You will be escorted by P-51D fighters,
  37. but be on your toes and have your guns
  38. manned. The new weapon the Luftwaffe 
  39. has is more than likely to make an
  40. appearance.
