status of the Global War OnLine game for BBSs. The
information is presented in clear charts with ANSI
or BBS Specific color codes for use as BBS
Bulletins.
Features 1.2
■ Supports Global War OnLine Game Version 2.3X and
2.4X!
■ Generates clear, concise, attractive charts in
professional ASCII and Hot ANSI graphics.
■ Generates two reports, one containing the name,
rank, and score of each player, and the other
containing a detailed breakdown of each game
containing player names, rank, armies,
continents, and commendations
■ A windowing Configuration system with built in
context-sensitive help makes setup quick and
easy.
■ Reads Global War's WAR.CFG as well as its own

Legalities 1.3
Users of DZK War-Rank must accept this disclaimer
of warranty: "DZK War-Rank is supplied as is. The
author disclaims all warranties, expressed or
implied, including, without limitation, the
warranties of merchantability and of fitness for
any purpose. The author assumes no liability for
damages, direct or consequential, which may result
from the use of DZK War-Rank."
DZK War-Rank is a "shareware program" and is
provided at no charge to the user for evaluation.
Feel free to share it with your friends, but please
do not give it away altered or as part of another
system. The essence of "user-supported" software
is to provide personal computer users with quality
software without high prices, and yet to provide
incentive for programmers to continue to develop
new products. If you find this program useful and
·3·
find that you are using DZK War-Rank and continue
to use DZK War-Rank after a 30 day trial period,
you must make a registration payment of $8.00 to
DZK Development Group. The $8.00 registration fee
will license one copy for use on any one BBS
system, single or multi-line. You must treat this
software just like a book. An example is that this
software may be used by any number of people and
may be freely moved from one computer location to
another, so long as there is no possibility of it
being used at one location while it's being used at
another. Just as a book cannot be read by two
different persons at the same time.
Anyone distributing DZK War-Rank for any kind of
remuneration must first contact DZK Development
Group at the address below for authorization. This
authorization will be automatically granted to
distributors recognized by the (ASP) as adhering to
its guidelines for shareware distributors, and such
distributors may begin offering DZK War-Rank
immediately (However DZK Development Group must
still be advised so that the distributor can be
kept up-to-date with the latest version of DZK War-
Rank.).
You are encouraged to pass a copy of DZK War-Rank
along to your friends for evaluation. Please
encourage them to register their copy if they find
that they can use it. All registered users will
receive notification of upcoming releases of DZK
products with a quarterly DZK Newsletter during the
first year of their registration.

Shareware (The ASP Explanation) 1.6
This explanation is taken directly from the
Association of Shareware Professionals BBS
application form. For more information of
shareware of the ASP contact the ASP at 545 Grover
Road, Muskegon, MI 49442. You can also contact the
Ombudsman on CompuServe via an EasyPlex (electronic
mail) message to 70007,3536.
You've probably heard the terms "public domain",
"freeware", "shareware", and others like them.
Your favorite board probably has many programs
described by one or more of these words. There's a
lot of confusion about and between these terms, but
they actually have specific meanings and
implications. Once you understand them you will
have a much easier time navigating the maze of
programs available to you, and understanding what
your obligations are, or aren't, with each type of
program.
Let's start with some basic definitions.
"Public domain" has a very specific legal meaning.
It means that the creator of a work (in this case,
a piece of software) who had legal ownership of
that work, has given up ownership and dedicated the
work "to the public domain". Once something is in
the public domain, anyone can use it in any way
they choose, and the author has no control over the
use and cannot demand payment for it.
If you find a program which the author has
explicitly put into the public domain you are free
to use it however you see fit, without paying for
the right to use it. But use care -- due to the
confusion over the meaning of the words, programs
are often described by others as being "public
domain" when in fact they are shareware or free,
copyrighted software. To be sure a program is
public domain you should look for an explicit
statement from the author to that effect.
"Copyrighted" is the opposite of public domain. A
copyrighted program is one where the author has
asserted his or her legal right to control the
program's use and distribution by placing the
legally required copyright notices in the program
·5·
and documentation. The law gives copyright owners
broad rights to restrict how their work is
distributed, and provides for penalties for those
who violate these restrictions.
When you find a program which is copyrighted you
must use it in accordance with the copyright
owner's restrictions on distribution and payment.
Usually these are clearly stated in the program
documentation.
Maintaining a copyright does not necessarily imply
charging a fee, so it is perfectly possible and
legal to have copyrighted programs which are
distributed free of charge. Such programs are
sometimes termed "freeware", though this term was
in fact trademarked by the late Andrew Flugelman
and the legality of its use by others could be
questioned. In any case, the fact that a program
is free does not mean that it is in the public
domain -- though this is a common confusion.
"Shareware" is copyrighted software which is
distributed by authors through bulletin boards, on-
line services, disk vendors, and copies passed
among friends. It is commercial software which you
are allowed to try out before you pay for it.
Shareware authors use a variety of licensing
restrictions on their copyrighted works, but most
authors who support their software require you to
pay a "registration fee" -- the purchase price of
the software -- if you continue to use the product
after a trial period. Some authors indicate a
specific trial period after which you must pay this
fee; others leave the time period open and rely on
you to judge when you have decided to use the
program, and therefore should pay for it.
Occasionally a shareware author requires
registration but does not require payment -- this
is so-called "$0 shareware".
The shareware system and the continued availability
of quality shareware products depend on your
willingness to register and pay for the shareware
you use. The registration fees you pay allow
authors to support and continue to develop their
products.
As a software user you benefit from this system
because you get to try the software and determine
whether it meets your needs before you pay for it.
Authors also benefit because we are able to get our
products into your hands with little or no expense
for advertising and promotion. As a result it is
not unusual to find shareware products which rival
retail software that costs several times the amount
of the shareware registration fee.

BULLETINS 2
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Bulletin Types 2.1
DZK War-Rank can generate two different bulletins
for your Global War OnLine game. The first is the
players rankings bulletin. The second is the
verbose information report which contains a
detailed breakdown of every active Global War game.
Player Rankings 2.1.1
The Ranks Bulletin is a listing of all Global War
players, their scores, and their respective ranks.
Only Players with scores above levels set in
WAR.CFG (The Global War configuration file) will be
listed. Rank names will also be determined by
values set in WAR.CFG.
Verbose Information Report 2.1.2
An Information Bulletin is a listing of each active
Global War game. Including the players' names,
armies, countries, continents, and commendations.
The information bulletin will also indicate whether
the game is non-sequential or sequential (for
Global War version 2.4x only), the number of
fortifications allowed, and whether the game is a
normal or team game. It will also pair team
partners.
File Formats 2.2
Both the Player Rankings bulletin and the Verbose
Information Report can be generated in any one (or
all) of the following file formats: plain 'vanilla'
ASCII, ANSI color coded, or BBS specific color
coded.
ASCII Text 2.2.1
The 'vanilla' ASCII text bulletins contain only
plain text and box characters, with no machine
readable codes for color or screen pauses. This
file is generated in 8-bit ASCII and can be read by
virtually all BBS callers.
ANSI Color Codes 2.2.2
Bulletins containing ANSI color codes are identical
in layout and information to the plain ASCII
bulletins however, they contain special ANSI color
codes which virtually all MS-DOS BBS and
telecommunications programs support. ANSI color
codes are used to make the bulletins more
attractive and to draw attention to key
information, making the bulletins more useful.
·7·
BBS Specific Color Codes 2.2.3
Bulletins can also contain BBS Specific Color
Codes. BBS Specific codes is a growing trend in
the PC Telecommunications field. They are designed
to make screen design easier for the sysop and
eliminate the need for ASCII and ANSI versions of
every display files. BBS programs strip these
codes when displaying the file to a caller, leaving
only the plain ASCII text, or replacing the codes
with standard ANSI/AVATAR codes, if the BBS user
supports such codes. As of yet, there is no
'standard' set of BBS specific codes, so each BBS
has its own individual set, or none at all. DZK
War-Rank supports the codes for Wildcat version
3.xx, PC Board version 14.xx, Maximus CBCS version
2.xx, and Remote Access version 1.xx. As other
popular BBS packages start using there own color
codes, we will add support for them.
Aside from color codes, we support each BBSs code
to generate a pause prompt. We place this prompt
at the end of every bulletin generated for that BBS
to prevent it from scrolling off the users screen
before (s)he has had a chance to fully read it.
Maximus CBCS V2.xx 2.2.3.1
DZK War-Rank supports the verbal codes for Maximus
CBCS V2.xx. We have tested our program with
Maximus CBCS V2.00, and have no reason to doubt
that if will work with future versions of Maximus
that use the same set of codes. You can contact

SETUP 3
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Extracting 3.1
The files contained in the distribution archive
DZKWR221.ZIP should be extracted into the directory
from which you intend to run DZK War-Rank. If you
have extracted these files elsewhere, please move
them to the directory where you intend to run them
before proceeding.
Files 3.2
Please consult the "Files" subsection 1.5 of the
introduction for a complete list of files contained
in the distribution archive DZKWR221.ZIP. If any
of the listed files are not in the archive do not
proceed with the setup and use of DZK War-Rank.
The copy you have is incomplete and may have been
tampered with. If you find that you have an
incomplete archive, contact DZK Development Group
for a complete copy of DZK War-Rank at:

When configured, DZK War-Rank will create the file
WAR-RANK.CFG. This is a machine readable
configuration file that only WAR-RANK.EXE has use
for. Do not edit or delete this file! Do not move
this file to a directory other than the directory
containing WAR-RANK.EXE.
Upgrading from Version 2.11 3.3
DZK War-Rank V2.21 has added many new features
including support for two more bulletins (BBS
Specific versions of the Player Rankings and
Verbose Information Bulletins) and hence the size
and format of the DZK War-Rank configuration file,
WAR-RANK.CFG has changed. We have included an
upgrade program UPGRADE.EXE to convert the WAR-
RANK.CFG file from its old format to its new one.
This will preserve any registration, color, or
path information you have configured in version
2.11. Before preforming the upgrade, it will copy
your old configuration file to WAR-RANK.OLD as a
backup. You may delete this if you have no further
use for it.
After running the upgrade program, be sure to run
the WAR-RANK configuration system (by typing 'WAR-
·10·
RANK /C', more details later) to make sure that all
the paths and colors are correct. If they are
incorrect, either manually correct them, or contact
DZK Development Group for assistance.
Configuration 3.4
Configuring DZK War-Rank is very easy. War-Rank
has its own built in configuration system. To use
the configuration system simply add the "/C" switch
to the command line. (i.e. "WAR-RANK /C")
The configuration system provides an easy-to-use,
menu environment. It utilizes pop-up windows,
vertical menus, and formatted entry windows to
provide a system that is straightforward and
powerful. Using the UP and DOWN arrow keys,
highlight the option which you wish to configure
and press [ENTER]. When a menu item is
highlighted, a brief description and current
setting are displayed at the bottom of the screen.
When selected, the cursor will be placed in the
entry window corresponding to the selected item,
allowing you to change its contents. Hitting
ESCape or [ENTER] will return you to the menu. The
only two exceptions to this system are the color
configuration (explained later) and the end
configuration options. Selecting end configuration,
or hitting ESCape will prompt you whether or not to
save the changes you made and will then return you
to the DOS prompt.
Registration Name 3.4.1
This field is for registered DZK War-Rank users
only. Upon registering, you will be given a notice
containing your registration name and number. In
this field enter your registration name EXACTLY as
it appears on the registration letter sent to you
by DZK Development Group. CAUTION: Because your
registration name determines your registration
number, incorrect entry of this field will cause
DZK War-Rank to ignore your registration.
Registration Number 3.4.2
In this field enter your registration number from
the registration letter sent to you upon
registration as mentioned above. CAUTION: Because
your registration name determines your registration
number, incorrect enter of this field will cause
DZK War-Rank to ignore your registration.
Global War Directory 3.4.3
This field should contain full path to the Global
War files WAR.CFG, WINNERS.WAR and WARxx.DAT (i.e.
"C:\BBS\DOOR\GWAR\"). Include the trailing
backslash.
·11·
Bulletin Paths 3.4.4
The bulletins paths menu option will pop-up a
window that will allow you to select which bulletin
file formats to generate (ASCII, ANSI, or BBS
Specific), and edit there corresponding paths. To
select a file format, move the bullet (■) up and
down using the arrow keys or TAB, Shift-TAB key
combinations. Press [SPACE] the toggle activity
(explained later), or press [ENTER] to edit the
paths for that bulletin file format.
Active/Inactive Toggle 3.4.4.1
As mentioned above, you can toggle bulletin file
formats active of inactive by pressing [SPACE] on
the desired file format. The active/inactive
toggle simply determines whether DZK War-Rank will
generate bulletins in that file format when run
with /R and/or /I command switch. When toggled
active, a bulletin of the selected file format will
be generated in its associated path. When toggled
inactive, DZK War-Rank will preserve the path in
the configuration file, but will not generate that
type of bulletin.
The Active/Inactive can be overridden on the
command line with the /A, /N, /K, /S, /Z, and /L
parameters (explained later).
ASCII Bulletins 3.4.4.2
Hitting enter on this item will allow you to edit
the default paths the ASCII player rankings
bulletin and verbose information report.
Player Rankings 3.4.4.2.1
In this field enter the default path and filename
for the ASCII Rankings bulletin. When DZK War-Rank
generates the rankings bulletins this is the
default location and filename for the ASCII output.
This should be whichever screen or bulletin you
wish to use (i.e. "C:\BBS\BULLETIN\BULL10.ASC").
Verbose Information Report 3.4.4.2.2
In this field enter the default path and filename
for the ASCII Verbose Information Report. When DZK
War-Rank generates the information bulletins this
is the default location and name for the ASCII
output. This should be whichever screen or
bulletin you wish to use (i.e.
"C:\BBS\BULLETIN\BULL11.ASC").
ANSI Bulletins 3.4.4.3
Hitting enter on this item will allow you to edit
the default paths the ANSI player rankings bulletin
and verbose information report.
Player Rankings 3.4.4.3.1
In this field enter the default path and filename
for the ANSI Rankings bulletin. When DZK War-Rank
generates the rankings bulletins this is the
·12·
default location and filename for the ANSI output.
This should be whichever screen or bulletin you
wish to use (i.e. "C:\BBS\BULLETIN\BULL10.ANS").
Verbose Information Report 3.4.4.3.2
In this field enter the default path and filename
for the ANSI Verbose Information Report. When DZK
War-Rank generates the information bulletins this
is the default location and name for the ANSI
output. This should be whichever screen or
bulletin you wish to use (i.e.
"C:\BBS\BULLETIN\BULL11.ANS").
BBS Specific Bulletins 3.4.4.4
Hitting enter on this item will allow you to edit
the default paths the BBS Specific color coded
player rankings bulletin and verbose information
report.
Player Rankings 3.4.4.4.1
In this field enter the default path and filename
for the BBS Specific color coded Rankings bulletin.
When DZK War-Rank generates the rankings bulletins
this is the default location and filename for the
BBS Specific color coded output. This should be
whichever screen or bulletin you wish to use (i.e.
"C:\BBS\BULLETIN\BULL10.BBS").
Verbose Information Report 3.4.4.4.2
In this field enter the default path and filename
for the BBS Specific color coded Verbose
Information Report. When DZK War-Rank generates
the information bulletins this is the default
location and name for the BBS Specific color coded
output. This should be whichever screen or
bulletin you wish to use (i.e.
"C:\BBS\BULLETIN\BULL11.BBS").
BBS Software Selection 3.4.5
This menu option will pop-up a small window that
will let you select the BBS software that you are
running. Once selected, all bulletins generated
with BBS specific color codes will have the codes
of the BBS you have selected here. Currently DZK
War-Rank supports Maximus CBCS V2.xx, PCBoard
V14.xx, Remote Access V1.xx, and Wildcat! V3.xx.
Maximus CBCS V2.xx 3.4.5.1
Selecting the option for Maximus CBCS will force
all BBS specific bulletins to use the verbal color
codes setup by SCI Communications, the author of

Color Configuration 3.4.6
When chosen, this option allows you to configure
the color set for both the rankings and information
bulletins. DZK War-Rank will place you in our
color configuration system. Three windows will
appear on your screen. On the left of the screen
will be a window showing all 128 possible
foreground/background combinations. On the right
will appear to bulletin mach-ups. On top is a
representation of the Rankings bulletin, and on the
bottom the information bulletin. The field that is
currently being configured will be blinking, and a
brief description of it will appear under window
showing the color combinations. Use the cursor
keys to move a box highlighting the current color
combination for the blinking field. As you move
the cursor, the box will highlight the color
combination that you are currently on, and the
mach-up's color will change. When you have decided
on a color for the blinking field hit [ENTER] to go
onto the next field. When you are through
configuring colors hit ESCape. NEW: In previous
versions, you were required to register before
being allowed to configure the colors, however we
have removed that cripple, both registered and
unregistered users will be able to configure the
bulletin colors.
Default Colorset 3.4.6.1
DZK War-Rank is equipped with a default color set
·14·
which we believe to be the most eye-catching
combination of colors for both bulletins. However,
as in earlier versions we allow you to configure
the War-Rank color set for either bulletin.

USE 4
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
WAR-RANK has been designed for ease of use and maintenance.
Its built in configuration program and extensive command line
options make WAR-RANK a powerful compact tool that doesn't
require a collection of support files that take up valuable
space. When designing WAR-RANK we took into consideration
the needs of SysOps. Being SysOps ourselves we know how
important it is to make WAR-RANK easy to configure in
interactive mode, yet have the ability to change the
configuration in a hurry from a remote system. We have
therefore developed a series of command line options that can
override defaults set by WAR-RANK's interactive configuration
mode. This allows you to override the WAR-RANK configuration
by simply adding parameters to the command line that calls
WAR-RANK.
Batch Files 4.1
Because BBSs require automated operation in the
absence of a SysOp, they depend heavily on batch
files. WAR-RANK has been designed with this in
mind. When creating, or appending the batch file
that will call WAR-RANK, you will appreciate the
extensive command line options which allow maximum
configurability, without having to load the WAR-
RANK interactive configuration system.
Parameters 4.2
The WAR-RANK command line, will consist of the name
WAR-RANK, followed by at least one primary
parameter, and as many as four secondary
parameters. Primary parameters cause WAR-RANK to
execute one of its three primary functions.
Secondary parameters are used to direct the output
of the primary functions, and override output
defaults set with the WAR-RANK interactive
configuration system. Since secondary parameters,
only modify the execution of primary functions they
are useless unless one of the two primary output
functions has been specified.
/C-Configure 4.2.1
The command line parameter "/C" is the first of the
primary parameters. It invokes the WAR-RANK
interactive configuration system, and allows you to
configure, or reconfigure the WAR-RANK defaults.
Upon completion of configuration, WAR-RANK.EXE
produces a file called WAR-RANK.CFG, in order for
WAR-RANK to operate properly, this file should not
deleted, altered, or moved from the directory that
WAR-RANK shall be run from.
/R-Rank 4.2.2
The command line parameter "/R" invokes the WAR-
RANK Global War Ranking function. This function
·16·
will open the necessary Global War files to obtain
player information, and generate the ANSI and ASCII
versions of the rankings bulletin. The bulletins
will be saved to the file names that you specified
in the WAR-RANK interactive configuration system,
or secondary command line parameters (explained
later). (i.e. "WAR-RANK /R" will cause WAR-RANK to
create the rankings bulletins)
/A-ASCII Path 4.2.2.1
The "/A" option is the first of three secondary
command line parameters that can be specified in
conjunction with the "/R" rank option. This option
can be used to override the path and filename for
the ASCII rankings bulletin set in the interactive
setup, and specify a new one. This, and all other
secondary options, is useful for changing the WAR-
RANK output, without invoking the interactive
configuration system, or changing the permanent
WAR-RANK.CFG configuration file. The "/A" option
must be immediately followed by the drive letter,
and full path and filename of the desired ASCII
rankings bulletin output file, with no intervening
spaces or punctuation. (i.e. "WAR-RANK /R
/AD:\WILDCAT\DISPLAY\HELLO4.BBS") The "/A" option
must be specified in conjunction with the "/R"
option or else WAR-RANK will not attempt to produce
the rankings bulletins at all. Using "/A" by
itself without specifying a path and filename will
cause WAR-RANK to not generate an ASCII rankings
bulletin. If ASCII bulletins are toggled inactive,
this option will override that toggle.
/N-ANSI Path 4.2.2.2
The "/N" option is the second of the three
secondary command line parameters that can be
specified in conjunction with the "/R" rank option.
This option can be used to override the path and
filename for the ANSI rankings bulletin set in the
interactive setup, and specify a new one. The "/N"
option must be immediately followed by the drive
letter, and full path and filename of the desired
ANSI rankings bulletin output file, with no
intervening spaces or punctuation. (i.e. "WAR-RANK
/R /ND:\WILDCAT\DISPLAY\HELLO4.SCR") The "/N"
option must be specified in conjunction with the
"/R" option or else WAR-RANK will not attempt to
produce the rankings bulletins at all. Using "/N"
by itself without specifying a path and filename
will cause WAR-RANK to not generate an ANSI
rankings bulletin. If ANSI bulletins are toggled
inactive, this option will override that toggle.
/K-BBS Specific Path 4.2.2.3
The "/K" option is the third of the three secondary
command line parameters that can be specified in
conjunction with the "/R" rank option. This option
·17·
can be used to override the path and filename for
the BBS Specific rankings bulletin set in the
interactive setup, and specify a new one. The "/K"
option must be immediately followed by the drive
letter, and full path and filename of the desired
BBS Specific rankings bulletin output file, with no
intervening spaces or punctuation. (i.e. "WAR-RANK
/R /ND:\WILDCAT\DISPLAY\HELLO4.BBS") The "/K"
option must be specified in conjunction with the
"/R" option or else WAR-RANK will not attempt to
produce the rankings bulletins at all. Using "/K"
by itself without specifying a path and filename
will cause WAR-RANK to not generate an ANSI
rankings bulletin. If BBS specific bulletins are
toggled inactive, this option will override that
toggle.
The "/A", "/N", and "/K" options must be used with
the "/R" option, but do not need to be used in
conjunction with each other. If only one is
specified, only the name and path of the one
associated output file will be changed, the other
will be output to the name originally specified in
the WAR-RANK interactive setup. The "/A", "/N",
and "/K" options can be used together to specify
new paths and filenames for all three files. (i.e.
"WAR-RANK /R /AD:\WILDCAT\BULLETIN\BULL2.ASC
/ND:\WILDCAT\DISPLAY\HELLO6.SCR
/KD:\WILDCAT!\DISPLAY\HELLO2.BBS" this command line
would output the ASCII bulletin to BULL2.ASC, the
ANSI bulletin to HELLO6.SCR, and the BBS specific
bulletin to HELLO2.BBS)
/I-Information 4.2.3
The "/I" command line option will direct WAR-RANK
to create the ANSI, ASCII and BBS specific
information bulletins. These information bulletins
contain all pertinent information about ALL the
active Global War games, and can be rather lengthy.
The information bulletins will be output to the
files specified in the interactive configuration
system, or the secondary command line switches.
/S-ASCII Path 4.2.3.1
The "/S" option is the first of three secondary
command line parameters that can be specified in
conjunction with the "/I" information option. This
option can be used to override the path and
filename for the ASCII rankings bulletin set in the
interactive setup, and specify a new one. The "/S"
option must be immediately followed by the drive
letter, and full path and filename of the desired
ASCII information bulletin output file, with no
intervening spaces or punctuation. (i.e. "WAR-RANK
/I /SD:\WILDCAT\DISPLAY\HELLO4.BBS") The "/S"
option must be specified in conjunction with the
"/I" option or else WAR-RANK will not attempt to
produce the information bulletins at all. Using
·18·
"/S" by itself without specifying a path and
filename will cause WAR-RANK to not generate an
ASCII rankings bulletin.
/Z-ANSI Path 4.2.3.2
The "/Z" option is the second of the three
secondary command line parameters that can be
specified in conjunction with the "/I" information
option. This option can be used to override the
path and filename for the ANSI rankings bulletin
set in the interactive setup, and specify a new
one. The "/Z" option must be immediately followed
by the drive letter, and full path and filename of
the desired ANSI information bulletin output file,
with no intervening spaces or punctuation. (i.e.
"WAR-RANK /I /ZD:\WILDCAT\DISPLAY\HELLO4.SCR") The
"/Z" option must be specified in conjunction with
the "/I" option or else WAR-RANK will not attempt
to produce the information bulletins at all. Using
"/Z" by itself without specifying a path and
filename will cause WAR-RANK to not generate an
ANSI information bulletin.
/L-BBS Specific Path 4.3.2.3
The "/L" option is the third of the three secondary
command line parameters that can be specified in
conjunction with the "/I" information option. This
option can be used to override the path and
filename for the BBS specific rankings bulletin set
in the interactive setup, and specify a new one.
The "/L" option must be immediately followed by the
drive letter, and full path and filename of the
desired BBS Specific information bulletin output
file, with no intervening spaces or punctuation.
(i.e. "WAR-RANK /I
/LD:\WILDCAT\DISPLAY\HELLO4.BBS") The "/L" option
must be specified in conjunction with the "/I"
option or else WAR-RANK will not attempt to produce
the information bulletins at all. Using "/L" by
itself without specifying a path and filename will
cause WAR-RANK to not generate an BBS specific
information bulletin.
The "/S", "/Z", and "/L" options must be used with
the "/I" option, but do not need to be used in
conjunction with each other. If only one is
specified, only the name and path of the one
associated output file will be changed, the other
will be output to the name originally specified in
the WAR-RANK interactive setup. The "/S", "/Z" and
"/L" options can be used together to specify new
paths and filenames for both files. (i.e. "WAR-
RANK /I /SD:\WILDCAT\BULLETIN\BULL3.BBS
/ZD:\WILDCAT\DISPLAY\HELLO7.SCR
/LD:\WILDCAT!\DISPLAY\HELLO3.BBS" this command line
would output the ASCII bulletin to BULL3.BBS, the
ANSI bulletin to HELLO7.SCR, and the BBS specific
bulletin to HELLO3.BBS)

/23-Global War V2.3x 4.2.4
Use the "/23" command line parameter if you are
using this version of DZK War-Rank on Global War
V2.3x. Several pertinent files have changed format
since Global War V2.3x, and DZK War-Rank will be
default handle these new file formats, and will
need the "/23" command line parameter to tell it
that the Global War data it is reading in is in
version 2.3x format, not in version 2.40 format.
/?-Command Summary 4.2.5
This command line parameter displays the DZK War-
Rank copyright notice along with a brief summary of
all the command line parameters detailed above.
Without Parameters 4.3
Regardless whether you run WAR-RANK from within a
batch file, or from the DOS prompt, WAR-RANK will
not perform any function without at least one valid
command line option. Instead, it will list to the
screen, all valid command line options, and all
support options, with a brief explanation of each.

OTHER DZK PRODUCTS 7
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
DZK BBS-List
DZK BBS-List and the accompanying viewer were created to fill
a void in the BBS community. All the national BBS lists,
even the most popular ones, lack the amount of information
about each board for a user to make any sort of judgement as
to the quality of that board. DZK BBS-List solves that
problem by removing the standard constraint of 80 characters
per BBS by supplying not only the BBS name, number, and other
pertinent information, but also by providing a list of mail
nets the BBS is in, and an 80 character description of the
BBS. DZK took this idea one step further by putting all this
information into a more compact datafile, and providing a
utility to not only view the list, but also to print the list
to the printer, and a variety of (.FON) telecommunication
programs' dialing directories.
Features:
■ An easy to use windowing interface with built in
context sensitive help.
■ Quick search routines to speed your search for a
BBS.
■ The ability to limit which BBSs to list based on
criteria such as baud rate, number of megs,
number of nodes, area code/location, or mail
networks.
■ The ability to have multiple criteria for
listing.
■ The ability to list BBSs to the screen, to a
file, to the printer, or to a telecommunication
terminal dialing directory (.FON file).
■ The ability to flag BBSs while listing them to
screen in order to later output them to a file,
the printer, or a telecommunications terminal
dialing directory (.FON file).
■ Cholesterol free, and low in Sodium and Saturated
fats.
