How to Play C O D E M A S T E R
The challenge in Codemaster is to guess a hidden code. The hidden code
is composed of a number of colored squares in a certain sequence. There are
six possible colors, and colors within the hidden code can be repeated.
You get ten chances to guess the hidden code. After each guess the
game will display a hint in the form of black and white squares to the left
of your guess.
A black square in the hint indicates that ONE of the squares in your
guess is the correct color AND in the correct position in the sequence. A
white square in the hint indicates that ONE of squares in your guess is the
correct color BUT is NOT in the correct position.
Each black or white square in the hint represents ONE square in your
guess. Consequently, a correct square in your guess will be represented by
ONE black or white square in the hint.
K E Y S
Up and Down Arrows - Select a color box by moving the highlight box.
Left and Right Arrows - Select a position in the code. The current position
is indicated by a flashing double-line square or a
flashing colored square.
The Space Bar - places a square of the currently highlighted color at the
currently highlighted position in the code. To change the
color of a square, move the highlight to a new color box and
hit the space bar when the position highlight is on the
position which you want to change.
Enter - Submits your guessed code for evaluation. The game will compare your
guessed code to the hidden code and display a hint if they do not
match, or flash the hidden code if you have guessed correctly.
If you cannot guess the hidden code in ten tries, the solution will be
displayed and you will get another chance to play.
