  1.                        M29COOL for MiG-29 version 1.0

  6.         M29COOL is a Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR) program that will
  7. work with the ThrustMaster FCS allowing you to program the "Coolie Hat" and 
  8. Buttons 3 and 4 to any keystroke on the keyboard, (including SHFT/CTRL/ALT 
  9. keys). You can also program "double-click" funtions to any button or hat 
  10. position. For example: By default the Hat is programmed to switch between  
  11. forward, back, right and left views depending on what direction you push it.
  12. If you push the Hat up twice, it will switch to Padlock view.
  13.  
  14. To program your FCS, I supplied a small program called COOLKEY.COM. This
  15. program will ask you to press which keystroke you want for each Hat position
  16. and Button. After you make your keystroke selections, it will write a file 
  17. named M29COOL.CFG. This file must be in the same directory as M29COOL.COM 
  18. when you load it. If M29COOL can't find the M29COOL.CFG file, it assumes 
  19. you want to use the defaults.

  21. No modification is required to the MiG-29 program. Simply run the M29COOL
  22. program, or use LOADHIGH to load it into high memory. The first step is to
  23. calibrate your Coolie Hat. Just follow the on-screen instructions, this only
  24. takes a few seconds. Next M29COOL will check to see if the M29COOL.CFG file
  25. is available, if so it will program the Hat and Buttons. After M29COOL is 
  26. loaded it will automatically check to see if MiG-29 is running. If MiG-29 is 
  27. running it will automatically "attach" itself. If Mig-29 is not running, it 
  28. will simply lay dormant in memory until it senses MiG-29. To Uninstall 
  29. M29COOL, just execute the M29COOL.COM program a second time. This will 
  30. remove the TSR from memory. One other thing you should do is select JOYSTICK
  31. from the CONFIG screen instead of THRUSTMASTER. Also, answer NO when you are
  32. asked if you wish to calibrate external throttle during joystick calibration.

  34. M29COOL also has a feature that will allow you to remap your COM3 and COM4
  35. ports to COM1 and COM2 respectively. This will allow people to connect with
  36. MiG-29, in one of the communications modes, using COM3 or COM4. To enable the
  37. COM port remap feature, add the /3 or /4 switch after typing M29COOL. For
  38. example: Type M29COOL /3 to remap COM3 to COM1
  39.            or M29COOL /4 to remap COM4 to COM2
  40.  
  41.         This utility is not supported by Spectrum Holobyte in any way so if
