THE COURSE: Stillwood represents my third course publicly released for JNSE and what I believe to be my best effort by far. I have spent a considerable amount of time trying to produce hole layouts that are interesting while not being gimmicky. I believe that for the most part I have succeeded, in some cases moreso than others. This course also has my most extensive use of elevation wotk to date. I have studied the works of many of the best designers in an attempt to make realistic and playable elevation changes. I have tried to keep unrealistic rolls and bounces to a minimum. There is nothing more personally upseting to me than to hit a perfect drive down the middle of the fairway and watch it roll slowly to the water or sand or whatever.
CREDIT AND THANKS: I would like to thank Bob Polin, Lee Ritze, Gene Rodriguez III, Mark Willet, and anyone else I unknowingly borrowed objects from for their wounderfull trees, bushes, rocks, etc. The background is an original layout composed of miniturized objects by the same guys above. Thanks to John Kunyik for his pallette editor. Where would JNSE be without this utility? My grass color is a slight variation of Brian Silvernail's grass coloration used for Saguaro Canyon. Brian has created the most realistic grass color I have seen. And lastly, general thanks to the JNSE community at large. What a great group.
I hope you enjoy this course. If you do, my others are Ventura Point and Baltusrol. I am currently working on an update of Baltusrol using detailed information provided to me by GRIII and also a JNSE version of Barton Creek which is right here in my home town.
