Eye of the Beholder 2 Character Editor
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brought to you by Patch and Rifleman
Rifleman here,
This is our first editor since Dragon Wars. We haven't been doing
any because Patch has been away at college. Hopefully we will do some more
soon. This one took us quite a while because there was lots to map out. 510
items in the inventory, plus the holidays, tend to keep ya busy.
Here's a quick run down of how the program works:
F1: Load data file
Displays a menu of all 6 save game files and their description.
Choose one of them to work on.
F2: Choose a char. to edit
Displays all of the chars in the party, and allows you to select
one to "enhance".
F3: Select attributes
Lets you choose values for Strength, Intelligence, etc.
F4: Select misc. stats
Things such as food, armor class, race, etc.
F5: Select levels
You have 3 class levels. Do what you want to them.
F6: Select inventory
Probably one of the most important functions of this program.
You can choose up to 14 items to put in your side baggage.
WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING
All current inventory will be overwritten, so if there is
something you want to keep, you better select that as one of the
items to dump to disk.
F7: Save char. to disk
Save it before you exit out of the program.
Navigation is very easy. Cursors, PgUp, PgDn change values. Esc quits from
every menu back to the main menu. Shit, if you can't read the screen, then
you shouldn't even be using a computer.
Anyways, that's about the skinny of this one. No need to be long winded on
something that is very self explanatory. If you would like to see some
improvements, then leave mail on one of the boards listed at the end of the
file. Spell Max Out and Name Editing were left out because they are pretty
useless functions, although it would be very east to implement. There may
possibly be an update to this program ... it would have a better user
interface (I don't always like using all of the function keys, either).
And yes, we have seen the USA character editor. It does the trick. The next
release should be more complete. Most of my time was spent making this damn
program look nice. I had the basics done long ago, but I wanted everything
done at once.
Have fun with this ... there may be a Twilight: 2000 Char. Editor soon!
