Mah Jongg Tile Set
File Name: WALESWX.TIL
Subject: Weather
Created by: Dick Wales, Leominster, MA
If you live in New England, it's hard not to take some interest in the
weather. I'm always aware of what the weather's like, even if I'm stuck
inside at the office. As I write this on March 2, 1991, it's 62 degrees
(very warm for this date), it's been raining like crazy much of the morning,
and yet I drove to work over snow-slicked roads three days this week. It
will snow again before winter finally ends, I'm sure. We get everything
in New England, from marvelous sunny days to hurricanes, tornadoes, and
blizzards. My California-born sweetheart put it best: "You do MAJOR weather
around here!"
Some pretty interesting weather-related tiles already exist in other sets,
so I didn't hesitate to borrow and modify them for this set. My thanks to
the following people, whom I hope don't mind the use of their tiles:
Nels Anderson for tile 4 (Robin) from BIRDS.TIL (modified)
Mark and Susan Krizer for tile 11 (Cold Thermometer) from ALASKA.TIL
which is one of my favorite tile sets. Tile 10 (Hot Thermometer) is a
modified version of this tile.
The Krizers (again) for tile 15 (Snowflakes) a very nice image!
Luther C. Leverett for tiles 31-34 (Weather Warnings) from SEA.TIL
Nels Anderson (again) for tiles 35-38 (Compasses) from FLAGS.TIL. Tiles
were modified by changing colors. 39-42 are also based on these tiles.
And thanks once again, Nels, for Mah Jongg!
