Boot Disk
---------
After installation, you will be given a chance to make a boot disk.
Your system boots from your "A" drive, which can be either a 5.25" or
3.5" drive. You need a HIGH-DENSITY (1.2 or 1.44 meg) floppy of the
appropriate size, either blank or one that can be reformatted.
Follow the prompts and when it's done, you have a boot disk that takes
into account your specific drivers and removes all references to
drivers the game doesn't need.
To use your boot disk, make sure it is in the drive and reboot your
system. The game will run automatically. (NOTE: Some hard-drives require
you to boot up without the boot disk in the drive; you hit space bar to
boot from a floppy after the drive spins up and it gives you a prompt.)
Most systems won't need to make a boot disk, but if you experience any
trouble with lock-ups or crashes, you may want to make a boot disk.
WINDOWS 95
----------
The game will run under SOME Windows 95 systems perfectly fine just by
double-clicking on the START.BAT icon. However, you may experience
break-ups in the music or other annoyances.
If the game just doesn't seem to work on your system, or if you just
want the program to run its best, you should make a boot disk.
The game will run faster but you lose multi-tasking capabilities.
If you have never installed a version of Windows 3.1 (or earlier) or a
prior version of DOS on your hard-drive, the program may not be able to
find your CD-ROM drivers because the required real-mode drivers will not
exist. If this is the case, please contact your CD-ROM drive manufacturer
or use the driver disks provided with your drive to include the proper
driver loading lines into your autoexec.bat and/or config.sys on the boot
disk.
Installation Problems
---------------------
If the installation process is interupted but the entire game has been
installed, you may run it by manually changing to the game directory and
typing START and then pressing <Enter>. You can make a boot disk at any
time by changing to the game directory and typing MAKEBOOT and then
pressing <Enter>.
