  7. These release notes cover what is new in V2.2.0 (221) of VirusScan
  8. for DOS, VirusScan for Windows, VirusScan for OS/2 and VShield.

  11. This release is a DAT file release only.  The Executable files have
  12. not changed, only SCAN.DAT, NAMES.DAT, and CLEAN.DAT.

  33. NOTE:  Beginning with the MID-MAY release of McAfee Anti-Virus
  34. Products, the Virus Data File numbering system will be changed.  The
  35. current format is to include the DAT file revision in parentheses
  36. after the program revision as a 3 digit number that indicates numeric
  37. file revision. For Example:
  38.                  2.2.0 (211)
  39. Indicates  DAT file revision number 212. 
  40.  
  41. In the new format, the DAT file revision will be a 4 digit number,
  42. indicating the year and month of release as in:
  43.                  2.2.0 (9505)
  44. Would indicate executable revision 2.2.0, and a data file released in
  45. May of 1995.
