  2.             POVCAD v4.03 for Windows Installation
  3. ==========================================================================
  4. By the time you read this file, you will have unzipped PVCWIN.ZIP which 
  5. contains:
  6.     readme.1st     This file
  7.     povcad4.wri    Shareware, registration and legal information
  8.     povcad4.zip    Archive containing POVCAD files (listed below)
  9.  
  10. These files should be in a special directory before you continue.  If this 
  11. isn't the case, then:
  12.  
  13. 1.  Create a new directory (e.g., C:\POVCAD4).
  14.  
  15. 2.  Move these files to the new directory:
  16.     
  17.     povcad40.wri
  18.     povcad4.zip
  19.  
  20. 3.  Unzip the archive POVCAD4.ZIP with the -d command line switch to 
  21.     preserve the subdirectory structure.  The archive POVCAD4.ZIP contains 
  22.     a subdirectory called SYSTEM, which contains files that should be moved 
  23.     to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

  25.     The archive contains the following files:

  27.     cmdialog.vbx    VB extension library
  28.     colors.def      List of colors for Polyray
  29.     colors.pv       List of colors for POV 1.x
  30.     colors.pv2      List of colors for POV 2.x
  31.     dosprmpt.pif    Windows Program Information File for command.com
  32.     metals.inc      Polyray include file by Dan Farmer (thanks Dan!)
  33.     polycolr.inc    POV colors converted for use with Polyray
  34.     polytex.inc     Some custom Polyray textures
  35.     pov2tex.inc     Some custom POV 2.x textures
  36.     povcad40.exe    The POVCAD executable file
  37.     povcad40.hlp    The POVCAD Windows help file
  38.     povcolr.inc     Some custom POV 1.x colors
  39.     povdraw.dll     DLL of drawing functions
  40.     povtex.inc      Some custom POV 1.x textures
  41.     rm_ttf.dll      DLL for converting TrueType fonts to Polyray glyphs
  42.     textures.def    List of textures for Polyray
  43.     textures.pv     List of textures for POV 1.x
  44.     textures.pv2    List of textures for POV 2.x
  45.     threed.vbx      VB extension library
  46.     vbmsg.vbx       VB extension library

  48. 4.  Make sure you have the file vbrun300.dll in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory 
  49.     (POVCAD won't run without it!). If you don't have it, you can obtain it 
  50.     from CompuServe (GO WINSHARE, LIB 1, vbrun3.zip).

  52. 5.  Move the files threed.vbx, cmdialog.vbx, vbmsg.vbx and ctl3dv2.dll to 
  53.     your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.  All other files should remain in the new 
  54.     C:\POVCAD40 directory.
  55.  
  56. 6.  Create program icons for POVCAD40.EXE and POVCAD40.HLP in the Program 
  57.     Group of your choice using Program Manager.  (Read your Windows manual 
  58.     for detailed instructions on this).
  59.  
  60. 7.  Use the file POVCAD4.REG to register POVCAD 4 with the Windows 
  61.     Registration Database (REGEDIT.EXE).
