  12. KENO for Windows is distributed as user supported software,
  13. popularly referred to as SHAREWARE.  You may freely copy and
  14. distribute KENO for Windows so long as it is not modified and 
  15. this read.me file accompanies it.  A nominal service charge may
  16. be assessed for copying and distributing KENO for Windows so 
  17. long as it does not exceed $7.  If you use KENO for Windows,
  18. you are expected to compensate the author for his efforts.  
  19. This encourages the continued development of better quality 
  20. programs which are supported by their users.

  22. The registration fee for KENO for Windows is $11.95 US.
  23. An order form has been included with this package and is
  24. located in the keno.ord file.  Just print this form, fill it
  25. out, enclose payment, and mail it to me.  KENO for Windows
  26. may also be registered on CompuServe Shareware Registration
  27. service.  Those who register will receive an updated copy of
  28. KENO for Windows with additional features and without the 
  29. pester screen.

  49. PLAYING THE GAME:
  50.  
  51. KENO for Windows is a gambling game in which the player begins
  52. with a BANKROLL of $500.  The player selects from 1 to 12 PICKS
  53. by pressing the associated buttons on the playcard.  Player's
  54. PICKS are highlighted in red.  The player places a BET 
  55. (defaulted to 5 coins), then presses Play.  Twenty numbers 
  56. will be selected at random and highlighted in blue.  Matches 
  57. are labeled HIT and highlighted in yellow.  If enough HITS
  58. are obtained to produce a payout, the BANKROLL will be 
  59. increased according to ODDS.  ODDS can be viewed by selecting
  60. ODDS from the menu and scrolling thru the appropriate PICKS
  61. frames.  Continue playing the selected PICKS by pressing Play,
  62. change PICKS as desired, or press Clear to erase the playcard.

  67. The BET defaults to 5 and remains the same unless it is changed 
  68. via the BET menu.  The BET range is 1 to 5 coins and the hot
  69. keys are F1 to F5, respectively.

  74. Playcard     -  select PICKS by pressing desired buttons
  75. Clear        -  clear the playcard
  76. Play         -  start the game
  77. Bet          -  place a bet from 1 to 5
  78. Odds         -  display the payout rates 
  79.         (use the scroll bar to view appropriate frames)
  80. Options      -  sound ON/OFF; select background color
  81. Instructions -  display Quick Help instructions

  86. KENO for Windows is a Windows 3.1 application.  KENO for Windows
  87. requires a color VGA monitor.  This software is for entertainment
  88. purposes only, and is sold "as is" without any warranty as to 
  89. performance or any other warranties whether expressed or implied.
  90. Because of the many hardware and software environments into which
  91. this program may be used, no warranty of fitness for a particular
  92. purpose is offered.  The user must assume the entire risk of 
  93. using the program.  A liability of the seller will be limited
  94. exclusively to product replacement or the refund of the 
  95. registration fee.
