An important and comprehensive feature of this program is the ease
with which it can be configured to suit any user.
You can customise the program thus:
1 Sound
Press <1> to choose from the following: ALL (all available sound),
FX ONLY (sound effects/speech only), MUSIC ONLY (music only), and
NONE (no sound at all).
2 Difficulty
Sets question difficulty. There are three levels: LOW, MEDIUM and
HIGH. Repeatedly pressing <2> cycles through them.
3 Clue penalty
Enter a number between 0 and 50. This determines the penalty (in
seconds) to be added each time the student asks for a clue.
4 Sections
Chooses questions the program is to ask. The options are:
FLASH (memory), COMPLETE (word completion), CRACK-IT (code breaking),
HANG-UP (hangman) and JUMBLES (anagrams), or ALL.
5 Record results
Determines whether or not the student's results will be recorded.
6 Hide this section
Determines whether or not the access instructions on the Control
Screen are displayed.
7 Current word list
The main program uses words contained in the list displayed here.
To use another list, press <7> then select from the choices given.
8 Magic word list
The 'magic' word used in the main program is selected from the list
displayed here. To use another list, press <8> then select from the
choices given.
9 Edit/create word lists
Changes all or any words in the current word list. Words are
automatically rearranged in alphabetical order when you have finished.
0 Edit/create magic word lists
Changes all or any of the magic words which are automatically
rearranged in alphabetical order when you have finished.
V View results
Details of the last ten sets of recorded results can be viewed and
printed from here. For further help on 'View results', press <V> at
the Parent/Teacher Section, then press <F1>.
L Language
Changes the extended characters produced by function keys 5-10 when
used for text entry.
P Printer
Select your printer. If it is not listed, set it up to emulate one
which is.
S Save new defaults
Press <S> to save current settings as new defaults.
