The massive sandstone chimney from which the house cantilevers is anchored into the boulder and is laid up like the naturally occurring stone ledges. But the design goes even further: It invites the boulder to enter into the house by having itp protrude through the floor atthe very point wherei itcan form the heart h for theliving room fireplace. The boulder itselfbecomes the heart of the house.
