  6. QVT is  a communications and  terminal emulation  package for
  7. IBM   PC's   and   compatibles.    While   there   are   many
  8. communications programs, QVT is  specially intended for those
  9. users who need exceptionally  complete and accurate emulation
  10. of the  DEC VT220  or VT100  terminals.  QVT  is particularly
  11. well-suited for use with some of DEC's own software packages,
  12. such as 'All-in-1' and 'WPS-PLUS'.

  14. In addition to  high-quality VT emulation, QVT  provides many
  15. of  the amenities  typically available  in PC  communications
  16. packages, such  as auto-dial,  auto-login, and  protocol file
  17. transfers.  QVT has built-in support  for the Kermit, XMODEM,
  18. YMODEM, and ZMODEM proto- cols, and  also supports the use of
  19. external protocols where needed.

  21. Though  primarily  intended  for  use  in  DEC/VAX  and  UNIX
  22. environments,  QVT  will  also  perform  well  when  used  to
  23. communicate with  IBM PC bulletin  boards, since  it supports
  24. the ANSI screen and color control sequences often used by BBS
  25. software.

  27. On the hardware  side, QVT supports all  standard IBM display
  28. adapters and keyboards.   The EGA 43-line mode  is supported,
  29. as is the  132- column mode often  available with third-party
  30. EGA/VGA display cards.

  33.                        RAM.
