SDNews! is brought to you in Hyplus (c) hypertext thanks to the
kindness of Niel Larson of MaxThink. To take advantage of the
capabilities of hypertext and SDNews! you need to read the following.
THE FLOPPY SYSTEM
Install the complete SDNews! with all files on a clean formatted 360k
floppy disk. Label the disk with the issue number (found on the
opening screen <start.txt 1 19>) and run from A: drive by entering
either "go-mono" or "go-color" at the DOS command line.
THE HARD DRIVE SYSTEM
Install SDNews! in a empty directory on hard drive. We suggest you
name the directory SDNews (of course). Make the directory by entering
"C:>md\sdnews" at the prompt. Run the news from the hard drive but
when done, copy all files to a clean floppy disk for fileing away.
Label the floppy disk with the issue number.

CUMULATIVE DESIGN
Whether you run the currant issue from A: floppy or C: hard drive,
sections of SDNews! are designed to interact with past issues stored
on floppy. The Cumulative Section is the C-INDEX. Occasionally a
reference jump or two appear elsewhere. You should notice three
things in the jump tag. (1) Anytime you see the A: drive designate,
it is a reference to a past issue. (2) Past issues and its files will
always be searched for on floppy disk in A: drive. (3) The issue
number to insert is always in the center of the jump tag and
represents not only the issue number, but the month and year of that
issue as well.

To complete the jump in the example jump tag, insert issue 0289 into
A: drive before you take the forward jump. To return, reinsert the
currant issue before jumping back. If you get all balled up - insert
the currant issue and press [Ctrl] and [Home]. Hard disk users can
use [Ctrl] and [Home] at any time to return to the currant issue and
the starting screen. [PgUp]
