  20.  **a. How to Play Spades**

  23.         There are many variations of the game of Spades,
  24.         Infinite Spades is one variation.
  25.  
  26.         Each player is dealt 13 cards. Afterwards, play
  27.         begins with each player bidding on the number of
  28.         tricks they think they can take during the hand.
  29.         Each player must make a minimum bid of 3 and a
  30.         maximum bid of 10.
  31.  
  32.         Play begins with each player discarding their
  33.         lowest club, or if the player has no clubs, they
  34.         must discard a diamond or heart card. The player
  35.         with the highest club wins the trick.
  36.  
  37.         The winner of the first trick then leads with any
  38.         card. Players take turns discarding cards clockwise
  39.         from the leader following suit if possible. If a
  40.         player no longer has a card from the lead suit,
  41.         then she/he may play any card. A trick containing
  42.         a spade is won by the highest spade, otherwise,
  43.         the highest card matching the lead suit wins the
  44.         trick.

  46.         Play continues with the winner of each trick leading
  47.         the next. A player can not lead with a spade until
  48.         someone had played a spade on a previous trick, or
  49.         the player only has spades remaining.

  51.         Each player who at least makes his/her bid receives
  52.         10 times their bid plus 1 point for each overtrick.
  53.         A player who fails to make her/his bid loses 10
  54.         times the amount of the bid.

  56.         The game ends if a player reaches 200 points, or a
  57.         player loses 200 points.

  62.         To run Infinite Spades, you'll need the following system:

  64.                 An IBM-compatible, 386 or better computer
  65.                 Two Megabytes of RAM
  66.                 A VGA monitor
  67.                 Windows 3.1, or Windows 95
  68.                 Hard Disk with two Megabytes free
  69.                 Mouse

  71.         You'll have more fun with these recommended additions:

  74.                 Four Megabytes of RAM

  79.         1. To get started with Infinite Spades on a hard disk:
  80.                 a. Insert the Infinite Spades disk in your
  81.                         floppy disk drive ('A', or 'B')
  82.                 b. From Windows 'run' A:\setup or B:\setup" and press
  83.                         Enter.
  84.                 c. Follow the screen directions.

  95.         If you have a problem, chances are you can fix it without
  96.         needing to get help. Try the following:

  98.         If the game says you have insufficient memory, or if it crashes,
  99.         try rebooting without loading any TSR programs, such as your
  100.         disk cache.
  101.  
  102.         If the screen is to dark to see, try turning up the brightness
  103.         on your monitor.
  104.  
  105.         If you are unable to fix your problems, try contacting us via

  107.         your computer configuration and what you were trying to do when
  108.         you encountered the problem. Also include any error messages
