  76. Late in the 21st century, human beings discovered the JumpStar just
  77. beyond their own solar system.  By flying a ship into it, a pilot could
  78. traverse astronomical distances in seconds, visiting remote areas of our
  79. galaxy never before realized.  At last the terrans could travel outside
  80. the Sol system, make contact with other advanced alien races, and enter a
  81. new age of scientific discovery.
  82.  
  83. Humans, however, were not the only species to take notice of the
  84. JumpStar.  Several devious alien worlds had begun sending hostile ships
  85. through their own JumpStars into the Sol system, attempting to cut off
  86. all terran access to the rest of the galaxy, bottling the humans inside
  87. their own system.  Many terran ships were lost in the battles which
  88. followed, and the enemies of Sol began to gain the upper hand.  Terran
  89. ships were being destroyed almost as fast as they could be built, and it
  90. looked like the humans might never be able to recover.  Rumors spread
  91. that several of the alien species blockading the JumpStar were beginning
  92. to team up to conquer earth, to strip the planet and split its valuable
  93. resources between them.  The terran scientists back on earth had devised
  94. a means to seal the JumpStar permanently, but they considered it only a
  95. last resort to keep the intruders out of their system.
  96.  
  97. This desperate situation called for a desperate measure.  The humans sent
  98. all of their remaining ships to the JumpStar in a do or die attempt to
  99. permanently oust the invaders from the Sol system.  The fierce space
  100. battle resulted in high casualties for both sides, so much that every
  101. human ship was destroyed save one, but the humans were victorious.  Since
  102. the intruders will soon be sending along additional reinforcements which
  103. could easily overpower the last of the terran fleet, there is only one
  104. option left.  That last terran ship must fly through the JumpStar to the
  105. attacking worlds and seal the alien JumpStars from the other side,
  106. preventing the invaders from ever threatening earth again.  You are the
  107. pilot of that last ship, brave of heart, quick of reflexes, and heroic by
  108. nature.  Tighten your harness and prepare for battle as you fly into the
  109. heart of the JumpStar. The fate of the human race is in your hands!  Are
  110. you ready for the challenge?

  137. To install the game onto your hard drive, run SETUP.EXE, and follow the
  138. on-screen installation instructions to proceed.  If you are running
  139. Windows 95, you can do this by selecting the "Run..." command from the
  140. Start menu. If you are running Windows 3.1, select "File" then "Run..."
  141. from the main menu in the Program Manager.  Enter the full path, and run
  142. the program SETUP.EXE.  For example, if you are installing from a disk in
  143. drive A:, type A:SETUP and then click the mouse on the OK button or press
  144. ENTER.

  146. Follow the on-screen installation instructions to proceed.  You will be
  147. asked to enter the path to the directory on your hard drive where you
  148. wish to install the game files, or to accept the default choice.  The
  149. installation program will copy the files to your hard drive and create a
  150. Program Manager group which will contain the game.  To play the game,
  151. simply open the program group, and run the game.
