This is the shareware version of Coarse Fisherman,you can only fish on one venue,
the full version will let you fish on all 6 venues and also has the option of loading
in venue data disks,after all there must be some incentive for you to register.

Welcome to Coarse Fisherman the ultimate angling experience on your PC.
I have allways been interested in fishing for as long as I can remember.
About 10 years ago I bought an Atari St computer and a game called Gone Fish`n written by a chap called
Roger Damon (thanks Roger for such a great game).
As soon as I bought the game I was hooked,at the time I was into sea fishing In a big way,and also learning
how to program the Atari.
Anyway to cut a long story short about two years later after learning the basics of programming,I wrote a game
called SEA FISHERMAN I also went on to write SEA FISHERMAN II both games were released as LICENCEWARE by BUDGIE UK.
Since then the Atari has long been sold, I upgraded to an AMIGA 1200 and started messing around with the Idea of a
course fishing simulator,but this Idea had to be put to one side as the last couple of years have been taken up
with writting games for a commercial software house (ESP Software).
I also had to purchase a PC to do AMIGA - PC conversions,I noticed that there is a fair choice of angling games/sims on the PC,
I have looked at most but found them to be lacking in one department or another,so I decided that now I have a bit of time I will write
my own angling simulation and release it as SHAREWARE.
Iam told that unlike the AMIGA users you PC users are an honest bunch and if you like a SHARWARE game you will register.
COARSE FISHERMAN is shareware,if you like it please register for the full game.
The shareware version will only let you fish on one venue,the full registered version has six venues.

System Requirments

Minimum 486 DX66,1 meg svga graphics card vesa compatible,4 meg.
sound blaster,joystick,mouse,Dos 6 or above.
Reccomended PENTIUM P75,1 meg svga graphics card vesa compatible,8 meg.

This game requires a fast graphics card to work as all the graphics are in svga and require a lot of speed to shift around.
See options for various ways to slow down or speed up the game.
If you havent got a fast card you can always turn the graphic detail down (see options).
This game runs faster in real dos mode,if your in win 95 and the game is running
too slow,shut down to dos mode.

Selecting this option will enter you into a fishing competition against 47 other anglers,you must enter your name and then select the venue of your choice.
Practice
--------
This option will let you fish the venue of your choice without taking part in any fishing competition,but remeber if you catch a record fish it won`t count.
This option can be used to let you get to know how each venue fishes,and which are the best spots to cast into.
Joystick/Mouse
--------------
Selecting this option will toggle between joystick or mouse control.
Info
----
This will give you the authors details and shareware message.
Original/Data disk
------------------
This option toggles between the original venues or any data disk venues you have installed.
If the game sells well enough,I plan to release a number of data disks with different fishing venues on.
Anyone who pays the registration fee can send me in any pictures of there favourite fishing venues,
I will then pick out the best or most suitable ones and put them on the data disk.
More info about sending in venues will be given when you register.
OPTIONS

This screen will let you set up the sound volume,game speed and graphic detail.
If the game is running to slow or to fast on your machine this is the place to look.

Gone Fishing
-------------
Once you have selected either practice or competition and chosen your venue you will now be on the main menu screen.
Main menu
---------
In the middle of the screen is the info box.
This box will tell you the following information.
Venue :- the place were you are fishing
Time :- time left in competition or practice.
Caught :- total weight of fish caught.
Bait :- current bait used.
Hook :- current hook sized used.
Line :- current line strength used.
Style :- fishing style float or ledger.
At the bottom of the screen there are 6 icons.
Starting from left to right.
Tackle
------
This is were you select hook size,line strength,fishing style.
At the top of the screen is the hook size selection,clicking on any of the boxes will change to that size hook,sizes are 8-18.
Line strength can be adjusted by clicking on the up and down arrows to increase or decrease strength,line strength can be 2-12 lbs.
Fishing style can be changed be clicking on either the float Icon (use float) or the weight icon (use ledger).
At the bottom of the screen the current selections are displayed.
Click on exit to return to the main menu.
Bait
----
Each icon on this screen represents one of the following baits.
From left to right top row :-worm,maggot,minnow,bread,sweetcorn,luncheon meat.
Clicking on any of the above icons will change your current bait selection to that bait.
At the bottom of the screen the current bait selection is displayed.
Click on exit to return to the main menu.

This screen shows the current weight record of each fish along with the anglers name and the venu
