  96. System Requirements

  98.   The minimum software and hardware requirements your computer system
  99.   needs to run Sage Concentration successfully are shown in the
  100.   following list.

  102.   o Windows version 3.1 or later. This program should run with all
  103.     Windows based operating systems including Windows for Workgroups,
  104.     Windows NT, and Windows 95.

  110. Installation Procedures
  111.  
  112.   Installing Sage Concentration on your computer is simple. To install,
  113.   follow these steps:
  114.  
  115.   1. Start the Windows application and select the Program Manager.
  116.  
  117.   2. Select the run entry from the File menu item.
  118.  
  119.   3. Insert the Sage Concentration disk into the disk drive.
  120.  
  121.   4. Keyin the letter of the drive that you inserted the disk into
  122.      followed  by ":\setup" in the command line field. For example,
  123.      if the disk is in drive "a" you would type:
  124.  
  125.      a:\setup
  126.  
  127.      Next, select the OK button on the dialog box. This will cause Sage
  128.      Concentration's setup executable to start running.
  129.  
  130.      Note: Instead of running setup from the run menu entry, you also
  131.      can simply double click setup.exe from the Program Manager or
  132.      Windows Explorer.
  133.  
  134.   5. The setup executable will display a dialog box with a default
  135.      directory specified in the field. If you want to install the files
  136.      in another directory, key it in in this field.
  137.  
  138.   6. Select the Install button on the dialog box and the files will be
  139.      installed. If the specified directory does not exist, it will be
  140.      created for you.
  141.  
  142.   7. If no errors have occurred during installation, a dialog box
  143.      claiming successful completion will be displayed when all files
  144.      have been copied and expanded.
  145.  
  146.    If the installation was successful, a Sage program group will be
  147.    created in the Program Manager. This will contain the Sage
  148.    Concentration program item. When you double click on this, Sage
  149.    Concentration will begin execution.

  151. Online Help
  152.  
  153.    Sage Concentration's Online Help can be accessed in two different
  154.    ways once it is running:
  155.  
  156.    By selecting the Help entry under the Help menu item.
  157.    By selecting the F1 key from the keyboard.

  159.    The Online Help contains information that explains all aspects of
  160.    this game and describes how to use all its functionality. This
  161.    should be the user's main source of help.

  163.    Once the Help window is displayed, the buttons near the top help you
  164.    find the information you need. The Contents button displays a list
  165.    of Help topics that Sage Concentration provides. The Search button
  166.    displays a dialog box where you specify a topic to search for. The
  167.    Back button displays the previously viewed topic. The History
  168.    button displays a chronological list of all Help topics viewed
  169.    during your current game session.

  171.    If you need to learn how to use Help, press the F1 key on the keyboard
  172.    while the Help window is open.

  174. Start Playing
  175.  
  176.    Once Sage Concentration is installed, start the game by double
  177.    clicking the left mouse button on the Sage Concentration program
  178.    item that was created by the setup executable. After doing this,
  179.    Sage Concentration will begin execution by displaying the
  180.    introduction screen. To stop this introduction and go to the main
  181.    screen simply click the left mouse button.

  183. Rules of the Game

  185.    Object of the Game
  186.    The object of the game is to score more points than your opponent by
  187.    selecting pairs of cards that match. There is some luck involved in
  188.    this game, but in order to beat your opponent consistently you need
  189.    to remember more of the cards that where turned up previously than
  190.    he does.

  193.    How points are scored
  194.    Each time you select a pair of cards that match on your turn you are
  195.    rewarded one point.

  198.    How to play
  199.    The first step to begin play is to select the opponent that you want
  200.    to play against. You have the option of playing againt the computer
  201.    set at one of two levels or you can play against another human
  202.    player. The players can be set on the Players Dialog Box. You also
  203.    have some controll over some of the parameters of the game such as
  204.    the game speed and sound effects. These can be set on the Options
  205.    Dialog Box. Once the players and the game options are set, start
  206.    the game by selecting the Start entry under the Game menu item. You
  207.    can also simply select the F2 key on your keyboard. Once this is
  208.    done all 52 cards will be dealt and displayed face-down on the
  209.    screen. The players name whose turn it is will be highlighted in
  210.    red at the top of the screen. On your turn, select two cards which
  211.    you think match (i.e. a pair of 7s, Queens, etc.)
