  23. After starting PowerCD the main      ┌────────────────────────────────────────┐

  54. To change between the file selector, the directory information window and the
  55. menu buttons, press the <TAB> key or select it by clicking the mouse on it. The
  56. window which is currently active is emphasized by a white double border.
  57.  
  58. When starting PowerCD or after activating a menu button the file selector
  59. window is activated automatically.
  60.  
  61. Menu buttons are activated by changing to the respective button and confirming
  62. by the <ENTER> key, by pressing the respective function key or by clicking with
  63. the mouse on it.

  67. THE FILE SELECTOR WINDOW:

  87. Now the files (and subdirectories) contained in the current directory are
  88. displayed. In the name column the name and the extension of the files are
  89. shown. Right beside it the size of the file is displayed in bytes. If there is
  90. displayed "<SUB-DIR>" instead of a number, it is a subdirectory. ">UP--DIR<"
  91. means that it is a superior directory. Right beside the file type is shown.
  92. If there is no file type then this file cannot be executed/viewed.

  94. The file selector can be moved within the directory by pressing the cursor-up
  95. or the cursor down key. It can be moved one page up or down by pressing the
  96. page-up or page-down key.
  97.  
  98. If there are more files within the directory than there can be displayed in
  99. the window, the grey bar at the right side of the window shows the relative
  100. position of the window within the directory list. Move the selector down over
  101. the border of the window to scroll down the directory.
  102.  
  103. If a file type is shown beside the file name, there is a program connected to
  104. it. Then you can execute/view/play the file by pressing <F3> or <ENTER>.

  106. The window can also be operated by the mouse. A single click on a file moves
  107. the selector to this file. A double click on a directory is used to change into
  108. this directory. A click on the menu button "execute" executes/views/plays the
  109. file the selector is currently marking.
  110.  
  111. Selecting files (for copying to the hard disk) is done by pressing the <Ins>
  112. key. A selected file is coloured white. Un-selecting a file is also done by
  113. pressing <Ins>.
  114.  
  115. To copy files press the <F5> key. If there are any files selected, these files
  116. will be copied. Otherwise the currently selected file is copied. (see also
  117. "the copy window")

  121. THE DIRECTORY INFORMATION WINDOW
  122. ────────────────────────────────

  124. If there's a "FILE_ID.DIZ" directory information file in the current directory,
  125. it will be shown in this window. This file contains information about the
  126. program stored in this directory.

  128. If the file's text is larger than the window the grey bar at the right side
  129. shows the relative position of the window within the text.

  131. The window may be scrolled by the cursor-up/down or the page-up/down keys, it
  132. must be active.

  136. THE MENU WINDOW

  139. The menu window contains the buttons for the main menu functions. The buttons
  140. may be selected by
  141.  
  142. - pressing the respective function key,
  143. - changing to the button with the <Tab> key and confirming it with <Enter>
  144. - clicking on it with the mouse
  145.  
  146. F3  - Execute:   executes the current selected file or starts the program to
  147.                  view/play this file type.
  148.  
  149. F5  - Copy:      leads to the copy menu
  150.  
  151. F9  - Options:   leads to the options menu
  152.  
  153. F1  - Help:      shows (this) help text

  155. F10 - Quit:      quits PowerCD

  159. THE STATUS WINDOW

  162. This window contains following information:
  163. - the number of files and directories within the current directory and the
  164.   drive space used by them,
  165. - the number of selected files and the drive space used by them,
  166. - the version and the copyright message of the program, and
  167. - the license number for this CD
  168.  
  169. This window cannot be activated, as it only displays information.

  181. In the options menu more or less important options for the work with PowerCD
  182. can be selected. The option menu divides into the different option points on
  183. the left and the function buttons on the right side.
  184.  
  185. The <Tab> key is used to change between the single option points and the
  186. function buttons. To activate (or deactivate) option points press the <Space>
  187. key. Function buttons are to be confirmed by the <Enter> key.
  188.  
  189. Alternatively the mouse may be used. Option points and function buttons are
  190. activated by clicking with the mouse on it.
  191.  
  192. Additional information about the licensee can be found on the left bottom.

  196. THE OPTIONS
  197. ───────────

  199. Sort files by:                     Here you can choose by which criteria the
  200.                                    files in the file selector window are
  201.                                    sorted. "File name" sorts by the name,
  202.                                    "Extension" sorts by the extension and then
  203.                                    by the name and "unsorted" leaves the files
  204.                                    ... well ... unsorted.
  205.  
  206. Insert moves cursor down:          Selects if the cursor moves down when
  207.                                    pressing the <Ins> key in the file selector
  208.                                    screen.
  209.  
  210. Backdrop:                          Selects a backdrop. You may choose between
  211.                                    "Backdrop picture" for a multicolor text
  212.                                    picture backdrop or the "Standard backdrop"
  213.                                    for a blue backdrop.
  214.  
  215. Program texts:                     All texts in the program are available in
  216.                                    english and german. Choose the desired
  217.                                    language here. It will be changed when
  218.                                    leaving the options menu.
  219.  
  220. End PowerCD before program start:  Selects if PowerCD is terminated before
  221.                                    starting executable files. This option
  222.                                    brings additional 150 kBytes base memory.
  223.                                    But then PowerCD must be restarted.

  227. THE FUNCTION BUTTONS
  228. ────────────────────

  230. Okay:                  Confirms the selected options and leaves the menu.
  231.  
  232. Abort:                 Leaves the menu but also leaves the options unchanged.

  234. Save options:          Permanently saves the selected options.
  235.  
  236. Standard options:      Selects the standard options.

  238. CREDITS FOR THIS CD:   Shows a text about the licensee / producer of the CD.

  240. Show backdrop:         Shows the great multicolor-text-backdrop. Press any key
  241.                        to return to the options menu.

  243. Program informations:  Shows information and copyright notices of PowerCD.

  255. Here the required parameters for copying files to hard disk are made. The
  256. single parameters:
  257.  
  258. Drive:       Requires the hard disk's drive letter.
  259.  
  260. Directory:   Here the target directory is required.
  261.  
  262. Okay:        Selecting this button starts the verification of drive and path
  263.              parameters. Then the files are copied to the hard disk. The path
  264.              is generated automatically. The read-only attribute of the files
  265.              is resetted.

  267. Abort:       Leaves the copy menu without copying files.

  274. language pretty well I have my problems to translate a quite complicated text.
