  3. Welcome to Vivid Interactive and HOT SLOTS!.
  4.  
  5. You are about to embark on an Interactive Adventure through cyberspace.
  6. Admiral James challenges all comers to compete with him in the HOT SLOTS Game Arena!
  7. If you're lucky enough to defeat him, you can accomplish your mission and bring him
  8. back to earth...Good Luck!

  10. Please note the following instructions and guidelines for installing and
  11. using HOT SLOTS!

  15. INSTALLATION
  16. ------------

  18. This program uses Apple's Quicktime for Windows to play back the movies you will
  19. see.  A runtime copy is included on HOT SLOTS! disc.  
  20.  
  21.  
  22. You may begin installation of HOT SLOTS! in one of three ways:
  23.  
  24. 1 -- From within Windows File Manager - simply double click on the INSTALL.EXE
  25.      file (located inside the "PC folder"), directly from the CD directory.
  26.  
  27. 2 -- From Windows Program Manager - Select Run from the File menu and type 
  28.      the full path to the PC directory on the CD-ROM drive and INSTALL.EXE
  29.      i.e.  G:\PC\INSTALL.EXE
  30.  
  31. 3 -- From DOS - simply locate your CD ROM drive letter, type your CD-ROM's 
  32.      drive letter then hit enter, then type INSTALL.
  33.      i.e.  G:
  34.        INSTALL

  37. The installation procedure will not copy ANY files to your hard drive but, will create
  38. a Program Group (Vivid Interactive) and Icons within the Group to facilitate play.
  39. Once your new icons are created you can click on the HOT SLOTS icon to begin play.
  40. Allow 15-30 seconds for THE PROGRAM to load (this depends on the speed of your
  41. hardware). Once in THE PROGRAM, allow 2-7 seconds to respond to your selections.
  42. To exit the program at any time, press Alt-F4 or click on the QUIT
  43. button, this should stop movie play and return you to Windows.

  46. System Requirements and Recommendations

  49.   IBM 80386 or compatible - 80486 will perform better

  51.   4mb of free RAM  -  8 MB recommended!

  53.   Double Speed CD-ROM Drive & Sound card (with Most Recent Drivers!)

  55.   Graphics Support for 256 colors (* 8-bit, 16-bit, or 24 bit)

  57.   Microsoft Windows 3.1 and above with Mouse

  60. If you have a screen saver active, disable it prior to starting the program.  
  61. If the screen saver becomes active during the program you may lose your
  62. cursor.
  63.  
  64. Some high resolution video cards may require updated drivers in order to
  65. work properly with QuickTime for Windows. If you experience problems when
  66. starting or running the Program, contact your Video Card manufacturer to inquire
  67. about updated software for their card.

  70. * Additional Color Comments:

  72. HOT SLOTS can run in 8 Bit, 16 bit, or 24 bit color. To play this program in
  73. other than 256 colors (8 bit), simply select the proper driver to run in
  74. either 16 bit or 24 bit (Read your Video Card Manufacturers documentation for
  75. information regarding your current Video Card's color capabilities, you may
  76. require a new Video Card to run in higher color settings). Once you have selected
  77. your new driver, simply start the program as explained under INSTALLATION. You
  78. may receive a dialogue box warning you that "you may experience unexpected results
  79. when running in other than 16 or 256 colors (8 bit), simply click the YES button
  80. and continue program play. Keep in mind, running in 16 or 24 bit may reduce
  81. playback performance, based upon your computer configuration.
