  1. This is the first version of The Tidewater Federal Scanning DataBase.
  2. While my name is on the masthead, much work was put into this
  3. program by many people who have requested to remain unknown!
  4.  
  5. The actual program is the work of John Wheeler of Atlanta
  6. Georgia.  I do NOT claim any part of the actual program, nor does
  7. my copyright cover the actual program, only the DATA contained in
  8. the file SCAN.DAT.
  9.  
  10. It is suggested that a $10.00 payment be made to Mr. Wheeler for
  11. his outstanding program, at 2584 Clairmont Rd. NE, Atlanta Ge
  12. 30329.

  14. I am ALWAYS looking for updates and new information, especially
  15. on the materials marked "unconfirmed".  Please don't hesitate to
  16. send info to me at the address listed in the opening of the
  17. program.  I will in return send you a disk with the updated
  18. SCAN.DAT file!

  20. If you desire, you may note that you do NOT want the source of
  21. the data revealed; however I will still send the update, if you
  22. provide SOME kind of address!

  25. VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE!!

  27. There are SEVERAL FEDERAL LAWS covering the monitoring of certain
  28. radio frequencies; most notably the ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS
  29. PRIVACY ACT OF 1986, and Section 705 of THE COMMUNICATIONS ACT OF
  30. 1984 (as amended).

  32. IT IS A FEDERAL CRIME TO DIVULGE TO ANYONE THE CONTENTS OF ANY
  33. RADIO COMMUNICATIONS UNLESS IT IS ON A STANDARD BROADCAST BAND,
  34. HAM OR CB RADIO, OR OTHER SUCH BROADCASTS "INTENDED" FOR THE
  35. GENERAL PUBLIC!

  37. ADDITIONALLY, IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO LISTEN IN ON CELLULAR
  38. PHONE CALLS!  IF YOU OWN A RADIO SHACK PRO-2004 SCANNER, YOU CAN
  39. MODIFY THE UNIT TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT LISTEN TO THAT BAND.
  40. OPEN THE RADIO UP, AND TURN IT OVER.  LOCATE PC-3.  REMOVE THE
  41. LONG METAL SHIELD, AND YOU WILL SEE A ROW OF DIODES NEXT TO THE
  42. IC CHIPS.  TAKE A SMALL SIGNAL DIODE (1N34 OR SIMILAR) AND
  43. INSTALL IN THE D-513 POSITION.  THIS WILL BLOCK ANY OF THE
  44. CELLULAR CHANNELS FROM BEING PROGRAMMED OR RECEIVED!
