XY.COM gives users the ability to generate high quality
printed graphs of functionally related data points, without
the need for graphics display options. All screen display is
performed using printing characters, so no graphics display
capability is required. All that is required is a dot-matrix
printer with tha ability to do graphics, such as the IBM-PC
printer, or any compatible or semi-compatible printer.
Specific printer control codes are easily installed by the
user.
The program has the ability to perform least squares curve
fits of straight line equations or polynomials up to th fifth
order. In addition, calculations may be performed using the
equations found. Also provided is the option to plot
"dot-to-dot", in cases where no real functional relationship
exists.
The following files are on this disk:
XY.COM - the standard implementation.
XY87.COM - a version with support for the 8087 math coprocessor.
XYPC.DOC - documentation for the software.
The documentation may be printed directly, and, if your
printer is fully IBM compatible, the .COM files may be run as
is. Please, do not attempt to run XY87.COM without a
functioning 8087 coprocessor in your machine. If your
printer uses non-IBM control codes, the addresses which need
modification are given at the end of the .DOC file.
XY is offered as user-suported software. The author is
suggesting a $35.00 registration fee from each active user.
Details are also given in XYPC.DOC.
