Transcription: Arthur C. Clarke is the English science fiction writer who is recognized as the father of global satellite communications. In October 1945, his ideas on the concept of communication by satellite appeared in a magazine called Wireless World. It was 20 years before his ideas became a reality, with live television pictures broadcast around the world and instant international calls becoming available to anyone with a telephone. Clarke is the author of more than fiction and non-fiction books, his most famous being 2001 A Space Odyssey, which is also an equally famous film.
