It shows a heron with a fish in its mouth, surrounded by other fish. Famous for his illustrations in children's books, Crane was also a noted supporter of the arts and crafts. In 1888, he founded the Arts and Crafts Exhibition Society. Walter Crane's designs for art nouveau wallpaper and textiles won him international acclaim.
