Squeezing the control lever allows this DIAPHRAGM VALVE compressed air to enter the drill. By tilting a hinged CYLINDER AIR INLET diaphragm first one way and then the other, the air PISTON passes alternately on top of AIR OUTLET and below the piston. This air movement forces the piston up and down so that it hits the tool many times each second. The tool drills into the road surface. TOOL
