It only requires 192K of memory, and is small enough to be run from a floppy disk. User entries are added and deleted using your favorite text editor. The message base is a text file system, and messages must be maintained using your editor as well. Any number of callers may call MINIHOST, but only 500 can be 'remembered' by the system. Many new features, like event scheduling, etc, were added. Still simple to setup, it requires 384K of memory, and user entries are still added and deleted using your text editor. It is also limited to 500 'remembered' callers. Registration fee: $29 hobby, $59 otherwise. (note the small price increase) Upgrading for prior MINIHOST registrants optional is at $15. Current release: 06/01/91g MEGAHOST MEGAHOST now hosts a robust user database as well as a message database. While still maintaining ease of setup, support for the text based systems have been discontinued. It requires 384K of memory, and logically supports up to 2 billion 'remembered' callers. It can be driven from a batch file, thus supporting front end mailers. Please Note: Future enhancements include support for multitasking. Because the design, coding, and support of MEGAHOST is performed by a limited staff of one, the multitasking enhancement, although moving, is moving slowly.
