ADDING DOCUMENTS TO THE PROGRAM
┌──────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ Adding other documents to your program - AOD │
└──────────────────────────────────────────────┘
You can add other documents to your program. The first step is
that the document needs to be in ASCII format or DOS text format.
This feature can be useful if you have many documents that you
want to have quick access to without having to leave the program.
If the file is saved in Word Perfect format then you can use the
Word Perfect command called CONVERT.EXE to convert from Word
Perfect to ASCII. Refer to Word Perfect documentation for the use
of this feature.
1. Make sure that the document is in the same directory as the
USCONS.EXE file.
2. Rename the file from what it was called to have a .CUS
extension. Use DOS's REN command to do this. Type REN
OLDFILE.EXT NEWFILE.CUS where OLDFILE.EXT is the old data file
name that you want to rename. You can leave the file with the
same name, just change the extension to CUS.
3. Once the file has been renamed then start the program, type
USCONS. Once the program has started press F3 then type the
name of the document. See the file called SAMPLE.CUS for a
example. You can also use the mouse to select [File] then
[Open file...F3] then click once on the file and select Open.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
ADDING DOCUMENTS TO MENU CHOICES
You can add documents to the menu in the U.S. Constitution version
3.0 or greater. The file that contains the menu choices is called
USCONS.CFG and must be located in the same directory as the
USCONS.EXE file.
