  9.    FAST START INFORMATION FOR NEW USERS:
  10.    (If you already use an earlier version of the program do NOT copy your 
  11.    data files per below - this destroys existing data which you entered - 
  12.    see also OLD USERS below) (For 720K or larger disks all files are on the 
  13.    program disk - for 360K users two diskettes are sent).

  15.    For a one drive system- Boot Dos per your Dos manual --Insert the 
  16.    Program Disk in drive a: -- Use your diskcopy command to make a backup 
  17.    copy: diskcopy a: a: .  Repeat for the Pantry/Data Disk (if present).

  19.    For a hard drive system- Insert Program Disk in Drive a: -- Make a 
  20.    directory such as 'EATWELL' or 'FOOD' with the command: md c:\EATWELL - 
  21.    Copy files to this directory: 'copy a:\*.* c:\food'; repeat for
  22.    Pantry/Data disk (if present).  We recommend you use the EATWELL.

  24.    OLD USERS:
  25.    For Hard Drive Users- The only files which you want to reuse (not copy 
  26.    new) are files without an extension (the three letters after the first 
  27.    eight) in the file name e.g. 'shopping' or 'diet', and for which you 
  28.    have data entered already.  Use the command 'XCOPY a:\*.* c:\eatwell /P' 
  29.    to selectively choose files to copy over to the same directory as you 
  30.    used before.  The /P option of XCOPY is important; it causes XCOPY to 
  31.    ask you before it copies a file. Say no to files you have data in
  32.    from a previous version.

  34.    For single or two drive users- Use the instructions for NEW USERS but 
  35.    use different disks to hold your data.  Then when finished insert your 
  36.    old disk in drive a: and copy the data files which you have already 
  37.    entered your data in.  The data files have no extension, for example, 
  38.    'record' or 'shopping' or 'recipes'.  Use the command "copy a:\recipes 
  39.    b:", where 'recipes' is a file you have data in and b: contains the new 
  40.    program files.  Use the 'dir a:\*.' command to find their names.

  42.    TO RUN THE PROGRAM:
  43.    For single or two drive systems- Insert the program disk in drive a: -- 
  44.    Enter 'eatwell' to bring the system up.  
  45.    Read the 'Info' file to see how to use multiple disks when your 
  46.    entered data gets large.  Note: The files with the extension 
  47.    'dat', and 'cfg' must be in the same directory or path as the '.exe' 
  48.    program i.e. eatwell.exe in order to bring the opening menu up.

  50.    For a hard drive- cd c:\eatwell  (Substitute the directory name you use); 
  51.    then type 'eatwell' at the dos prompt.  Note: The files with 
  52.    the extension, 'dat', and 'cfg' must be in the same directory or 
  53.    path as the '.exe' program i.e. eatwell.exe in order to bring 
  54.    the opening menu up which guides you from that point on.
