ROMANS 1:17
For therein is the righteousness of God
revealed from faith to faith: as it is
written, The just shall live by faith.
(Hab.2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted
up is not upright in him: but the just
shall live by his faith.)
ROMANS 2:24
For the name of God is blasphemed among
the Gentiles through you, as it is written.
(Isa.52:5 Now therefore, what have I here,
saith the Lord, that my people is taken
away for nought? they that rule over them
make them to howl, saith the Lord; and my
name continually every day is blasphemed.)
ROMANS 3:4
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every
man a liar; as it is written, That thou
mightest be justified in thy sayings, and
mightest overcome when thou art judged.
(Ps.51:4 Against thee, thee only, have I
sinned, and done this evil in thy sight:
that thou mightest be justified when thou
speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.)
ROMANS 3:10
As it is written, There is none righteous,
no, not one:
(Isa.41:26 Who hath declared from the
beginning, that we may know? and beforetime,
that we may say, He is righteous? yea, there
is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that
declareth, yea, there is none that heareth
your words.)
ROMANS 3:12
They are all gone out of the way, they are
together become unprofitable; there is none
that doeth good, no, not one.
(Ps.14:3 They are all gone aside, they are
all together become filthy: there is none
that doeth good, no, not one.)
ROMANS 3:18
There is no fear of God before their eyes.
(Ps.36:1 The transgression of the wicked
saith within my heart, that there is no
fear of God before his eyes.)
ROMANS 4:3
For what saith the scripture? Abraham
believed God, and it was counted unto
him for righteousness.
(Gen.15:6 And he believed in the Lord; and
he counted it to him for righteousness.)
ROMANS 4:6
Even as David also describeth the blessedness
of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness
without works,
ROMANS 4:7-8
Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities
are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will
not impute sin.
(Ps.32:1-2 Blessed is he whose transgression
is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed
is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not
iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no
guile.)
ROMANS 4:17
(As it is written, I have made thee a father
of many nations,) before him whom he believed,
even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth
those things which be not as though they were.
(Gen.17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be
called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham;
for a father of many nations have I made thee.)
ROMANS 4:18
Who against hope believed in hope, that he
might become the father of many nations,
according to that which was spoken, So
shall thy seed be.)
(Gen.15:5 And he brought him forth abroad,
and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell
the stars, if thou be able to number them:
and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.)
ROMANS 4:22
And therefore it was imputed to him for
righteousness.
(Gen.15:6 And he believed in the Lord; and
he counted it to him for righteousness.)
ROMANS 7:7
What shall we say then? Is the law sin?
God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin,
but by the law: for I had not known
lust, except the law had said, Thou
shalt not covet.
(Ex.20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy
neighbour's house, thou shalt not
covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his
manservant, nor his maidservant,
nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any
thing that is thy neighbour's.
(Deut.5:21 Neither shalt thou desire
thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt
thou covet thy neighbour's house,
his field, or his manservant, or his
maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or
any thing that is thy neighbour's.)
ROMANS 8:36
As it is written, For thy sake we are
killed all the day long; we are accounted
as sheep for the slaughter.
(Ps.44:22 Yea, for thy sake are we killed
all the day long; we are counted as sheep
for the slaughter.)
ROMANS 9:6
Not as though the word of God hath taken
none effect. For they are not all Israel,
which are of Israel:
ROMANS 9:7
Neither, because they are the seed of
Abraham, are they all children: but,
In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
(Gen.21:12 And God said unto Abraham,
Let it not be grievous in thy sight
because of the lad, and because of thy
bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said
unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for
in Isaac shall thy seed be called.)
ROMANS 9:9
For this is the word of promise, At this
time will I come, and Sarah shall have a
son.)
(Gen.18:10 And he said, I will certainly
return unto thee according to the time of
life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have
a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door,
which was behind him.)
(Gen.18:14 Is any thing too hard for the
Lord? At the time appointed I will return
unto thee, according to the time of life,
and Sarah shall have a son.)
ROMANS 9:12
It was said unto her, The elder shall serve
the younger.
(Gen.25:23 And the Lord said unto her, Two
nations are in thy womb, and two manner of
people shall be separated from thy bowels;
and the one people shall be stronger than
the other people; and the elder shall serve
the younger.)
ROMANS 9:13
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but
Esau have I hated.
(Mal.1:2-3 I have loved you, saith the Lord.
Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was
not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the Lord:
yet I loved Jacob, And I hated Esau, and
laid his mountains and his heritage waste
for the dragons of the wilderness. )
ROMANS 9:15
For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy
on whom I will have mercy, and I will have
compassion on whom I will have compassion.
(Ex.33:19 And he said, I will make all my
goodness pass before thee, and I will
proclaim the name of the Lord before
thee; and will be gracious to whom I
will be gracious, and will shew mercy
on whom I will shew mercy.)
ROMANS 9:17
For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even
for this same purpose have I raised thee up,
that I might shew my power in thee, and that
my name might be declared throughout all the
earth.
(Ex.9:16 And in very deed for this cause have
I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power;
and that my name may be declared throughout
all the earth.)
ROMANS 9:25,26
As he saith also in Osee, I will call them
my people, which were not my people; and
her beloved, which was not beloved. And
it shall come to pass, that in the place
where it was said unto them, Ye are not
my people; there shall they be called the
children of the living God.
(Hos.2:23 And I will sow her unto me in
the earth; and I will have mercy upon
her that had not obtained mercy; and
I will say to them which were not my
people, Thou art my people; and they
shall say, Thou art my God.
(Hos.1:10 Yet the number of the children
of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea,
which cannot be measured nor numbered;
and it shall come to pass, that in the
place where it was said unto them, Ye
are not my people, there it shall be
said unto them, Ye are the sons of the
living God.)
ROMANS 9:27,28
Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though
the number of the children of Israel be as
the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be
saved: For he will finish the work, and cut
it short in righteousness: because a short
work will the Lord make upon the earth.
(Isa.10:22 For though thy people Israel be
as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of
them shall return: the consumption decreed
shall overflow with righteousness.)
ROMANS 9:29
And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord
of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been
as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
(Isa.1:9 Except the Lord of hosts had left
unto us a very small remnant, we should
have been as Sodom, and we should have
been like unto Gomorrah.)
ROMANS 9:33
As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion
a stumblingstone and rock of offence: an
d whosoever believeth on him shall not be
ashamed.
(Isa.8:14 And he shall be for a sanctuary;
but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock
of offence to both the houses of Israel, for
a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of
Jerusalem.)
(Isa.28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God,
Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a
stone, a tried stone, a precious corner
stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth
shall not make haste.)
ROMANS 10:5
For Moses describeth the righteousness
which is of the law, That the man which
doeth those things shall live by them.
(Lev.18:5 Ye shall therefore keep my
statutes, and my judgments: which if
a man do, he shall live in them: I am
the Lord.)
ROMANS 10:6
But the righteousness which is of faith
speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine
heart, Who shall ascend into heaven?
(that is, to bring Christ down from
above:)
(Deut.30:12 It is not in heaven, that
thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for
us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that
we may hear it, and do it?)
ROMANS 10:7
Or, Who shall descend into the deep?
(that is, to bring up Christ again
from the dead.)
(Deut.30:13 Neither is it beyond the
sea, that thou shouldest say, Who
shall go over the sea for us, and
bring it unto us, that we may hear
it, and do it?)
ROMANS 10:8
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee,
even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that
is, the word of faith, which we preach;
(Deut.30:14 But the word is very nigh unto
thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that
thou mayest do it.)
ROMANS 10:11
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth
on him shall not be ashamed.
(Isa.45:17 But Israel shall be saved in the
Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye
shall not be ashamed nor confounded world
without end)
ROMANS 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of
the Lord shall be saved.
(Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that
whosoever shall call on the name of the
Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion
and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as
the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom
the Lord shall call.)
ROMANS 10:15
And how shall they preach, except they be
sent? as it is written, How beautiful are
the feet of them that preach the gospel
of peace, and bring glad tidings of good
things!
(Isa.52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of him that bringeth good
tidings, that publisheth peace; that
bringeth good tidings of good, that
publisheth salvation; that saith unto
Zion, Thy God reigneth!)
ROMANS 10:16
But they have not all obeyed the gospel.
For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed
our report?
(Isa.53:1 Who hath believed our report? and
to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?)
ROMANS 10:18
But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily,
their sound went into all the earth, and
their words unto the ends of the world.
(Ps.19:4 Their line is gone out through all
the earth, and their words to the end of the
world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for
the sun,)
ROMANS 10:19
But I say, Did not Israel know? First
Moses saith, I will provoke you to
jealousy by them that are no people,
and by a foolish nation I will anger
you.
(Deut.32:21 They have moved me to jealousy
with that which is not God; they have
provoked me to anger with their vanities:
and I will move them to jealousy with
those which are not a people; I will
provoke them to anger with a foolish
nation.
ROMANS 10:20
But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was
found of them that sought me not; I was
made manifest unto them that asked not
after me.
(Isa.65:1 I am sought of them that asked
not for me; I am found of them that sought
me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto
a nation that was not called by my name.)
ROMANS 10:21
But to Israel he saith, All day long I
have stretched forth my hands unto a
disobedient and gainsaying people.
(Isa.65:2 I have spread out my hands
all the day unto a rebellious people,
which walketh in a way that was not
good, after their own thoughts; )
ROMANS 11:2
God hath not cast away his people which
he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture
saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession
to God against Israel, saying,
ROMANS 11:3
Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and
digged down thine altars; and I am left
alone, and they seek my life.
(I Kings 19:10 And he said, I have been
very jealous for the Lord God of hosts:
for the children of Israel have forsaken
thy covenant, thrown down thine altars,
and slain thy prophets with the sword;
and I, even I only, am left; and they
seek my life, to take it away.)
ROMANS 11:4
But what saith the answer of God unto him?
I have reserved to myself seven thousand
men, who have not bowed the knee to the
image of Baal.
(I Kings 19:18 Yet I have left me seven
thousand in Israel, all the knees which
have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth
which hath not kissed him.)
ROMANS 11:8
(According as it is written, God hath given
them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they
should not see, and ears that they should
not hear;) unto this day.
(Deut.29:4 Yet the Lord hath not given you
an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and
ears to hear, unto this day.)
(Isa.29:10 For the Lord hath poured out upon
you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed
your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the
seers hath he covered.)
(Ps.69:23 Let their eyes be darkened, that
they see not; and make their loins continually
to shake.)
ROMANS 11:26
And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is
written, There shall come out of Sion the
Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness
from Jacob:
(Isa.59:20 And the Redeemer shall come
to Zion, and unto them that turn from
transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord.)
ROMANS 11:34
For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or
who hath been his counseller?
(Isa.40:13,14 Who hath directed the Spirit
of the Lord, or being his counseller hath
taught him? With whom took he counsel,
and who instructed him, and taught him
in the path of judgment, and taught him
knowledge, and shewed to him the way of
understanding?)
ROMANS 12:19
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves,
but rather give place unto wrath: for
it is written, Vengeance is mine; I
will repay, saith the Lord.
(Deut.32:35 To me belongeth vengeance,
and recompence; their foot shall slide
in due time: for the day of their
calamity is at hand, and the things
that shall come upon them make haste.)
ROMANS 12:20
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him;
if he thirst, give him drink: for in so
doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his
head.)
(Prov.25:22 For thou shalt heap coals of
fire upon his head, and the Lord shall
reward thee.)
ROMANS 13:9
For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery,
Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal,
Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou
shalt not covet; and if there be any other
commandment, it is briefly comprehended in
this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself.
(Ex.20:13-17 Thou shalt not kill. Thou
shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt
not steal. Thou shalt not bear false
witness against thy neighbour. Thou
shalt not covet thy neighbour's house,
thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife,
nor his manservant, nor his maidservant,
nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing
that is thy neighbour's.)
(Deut.5:17-21 Thou shalt not kill. Neither
shalt thou commit adultery. Neither shalt
thou steal. Neither shalt thou bear false
witness against thy neighbour. Neither
shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife,
neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's
house, his field, or his manservant, or
his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or
any thing that is thy neighbour's.)
(Lev.19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor
bear any grudge against the children
of thy people, but thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord.)
ROMANS 14:11
For it is written, As I live, saith the
Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and
every tongue shall confess to God.
(Isa.45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word
is gone out of my mouth in righteousness,
and shall not return, That unto me every
knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.)
ROMANS 15:3
For even Christ pleased not himself: but,
as it is written, The reproaches of them
that reproached thee fell on me.
(Ps.69:9 For the zeal of thine house hath
eaten me up; and the reproaches of them
that reproached thee are fallen upon me.)
ROMANS 15:9
And that the Gentiles might glorify God
for his mercy; as it is written, For this
cause I will confess to thee among the
Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
(Ps.18:49 Therefore will I give thanks
unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen,
and sing praises unto thy name.)
ROMANS 15:10
And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles,
with his people.
(Deut.32:43 Rejoice, O ye nations, with
his people: for he will avenge the blood
of his servants, and will render vengeance
to his adversaries, and will be merciful
unto his land, and to his people.)
ROMANS 15:11
And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles;
and laud him, all ye people.
(Ps.117:1 O praise the Lord, all ye nations:
praise him, all ye people.)
ROMANS 15:12
And again, Esaias saith, There shall be
a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise
to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall
the Gentiles trust.
(Isa.11:10 And in that day there shall
be a root of Jesse, which shall stand
for an ensign of the people; to it shall
the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall
be glorious.)
ROMANS 15:21
But as it is written, To whom he was not
spoken of, they shall see: and they that
have not heard shall understand.
(Isa.52:15 So shall he sprinkle many
nations; the kings shall shut their
mouths at him: for that which had not
been told them shall they see; and
that which they had not heard shall
they consider.)
