  7. A Newly established group of Scunthorpe mystery seekers is on the lookout for
  8. more prople to share their paranormal experiences with them.
  9.  
  10. The town branch of BEAMS (British Earth And Aerial Mysteries Society) -
  11. launched after the Star publicised efforts to set up the group in December -
  12. wants to hear about your encounters with UFOs and any other spooky occurences.
  13.  
  14. Organised by Val Mitchell, the club now has 24 members and is holding its third
  15. meeting tonight, Friday where Arthur Tomlinson BSC, who has studied UFOlogy for
  16. more than 40 years, will be the guest speaker.

  18. "People are really interested in what's happening. We've been watching videos
  19. of UFOs and giving talks," said Val.
  20.  
  21. I had such a good response from the article in the Star. A lot of people got in
  22. contact with me."

  24. Val admits to never personally having seen a UFO but believes it highly
  25. unlikely that if we can send spaceships and satellites out into space that
  26. other life forms cannot do likewise. She herself first became interested in
  27. this aspect of the paranormal after talking to a UFO expert and was later
  28. introduced to the Bedford branch of BEAMS which provided her with the
  29. information she needed to set up a branch in Scunthorpe.

  31. Val is also producing a quarterly newsletter and is undertaking research into
  32. local "happenings."
