  6. So many UFO sightings have been reported along a lonely stretch of a Nevada
  7. desert highway that locals are pushing for the road to be renamed the Alien and
  8. Extraterrestrial Highway.
  9.  
  10. Tour operators take UFO buffs form all over the world on guided tours of the
  11. area.  They, camp put under the stars, watching through telescopes for the
  12. mysterious objects they insists are spacecraft.
  13.  
  14. From Highway 375, white sand roads lead to the edge of the Nellis Air Force
  15. base and Area 51, a highly secret military installation.  Legend among UFO
  16. buffs has it that the air force holds captured spaceships there.

  18. In public, the air force does not even call it area 51.  This secrecy and the
  19. mystery of the UFOs are inextricably linked in the minds of those who insist
  20. they have seen unexplained lights or ghostly blobs in the sky.

  22. "There are UFO sightings all the time around her," said Paula Clayton, the
  23. manageress of the Little A'Le'Inn hotel and restaurant  at Rachel on Highway
  24. 375.  "I have seen lights and things that can't be explained.  They don't fly
  25. like a plane or like anything from our world."

  27. Mrs Clayton and the owners of the Little A'Le'Inn (a sign outside proclaims
  28. "Earthlings Welcome") are among those supporting a move by some Nevada state
  29. assemblymen to rename the highway.

  31. "Its wonderful for tourism," said  Mrs Clayton.
