- MORE UFO SIGHTINGS IN THE NORTH 08/02/96
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Soure: Dundee Courier & Advertiser
- Date: February 8, 1996
-
- A CLUSTER of sightings of a mysterious object in the skies over the north of
- Scotland have been reported to the UFO desk at the Ministry of Defence in
- London.
-
- Air traffic controllers working at Dalcross Airport, near Inverness, were the
- latest people to admit seeing the startlingly bright light hovering above the
- Beauly Firth on Tuesday night.
-
- Airport staff passes on their strange experience to the MOD which said it was
- "unable to establish its origins or explain its presence".
-
- Pauline Mackay of Allandre Drumsmittal, on the Black Isle, first spotted the
- object last week but had her second close encounter on Tuesday.
-
- She said, "The air traffic controllers phoned me when they saw it hanging in
- the sky once more. I looked out and got my son Andrew to draw what he saw.
-
- "He drew a brightly coloured object in the shape of a Christmas tree which is
- similar to the thing that was seen by two pilots on their approach to
- Manchester Airport last year."
-
- She added, "This time it seemed to be coming downwards and the clouds where red
- from the beam of its lights."
-
- The school auxiliary is by no means the only person to have witnessed the
- event. Inverness based Moray Firth Radio was swamped by calls from people after
- it reported details of her second sighting.
-
- Presenter Dave Cochrane staged a lunchtime phone-in which attracted a large
- reponse from people claiming to have seen a triangular flying saucer.
-
- One woman from Inverness who asked to remain anonymous said she had received
- telepathic messages from an alien on Tuesday Night.
-
- Last Friday and official report found that two British Airways pilots did see
- an object, dubbed the Silent Vulcan because of its triangular shape, as their
- Boeing 737 was on its approach to Manchester Airport a year ago.
-
- The pilots filed a formal "air miss" report after they landed, but the
- year-long investigation failed to come up with a convincing explanation.
