  7. THE RAF has dismissed a Scarborough man's claim that he saw a UFO.
  8.  
  9. Steve Larkin of Shirecroft, Eastfield, was looking out for a comet when he
  10. swears he saw a spaceship fly over Oliver's Mount.
  11.  
  12. He says he caught sight of an object in his telescope which was over 100ft
  13. long, covered in lights and flew over the Mount flanked by two other flying
  14. objects.

  16. He said: "I thought it would have to be a Lancaster bomber to be so big but it
  17. was a UFO or spaceship."

  19. A spokesman from RAF Flyingdales said: "If he could estimate the length and see
  20. it flying that low it was definately not a spaceship.

  22. "The likely esplination is it was a fuel tanker which is large and has several
  23. lights visible when it is refuelling other craft."
