- Very intelligent deterrents. If it was free or very cheap, they
- would have every half-wit loser filing for FOIA info and they
- would have to fulfill these requests. Some agencies would
- receive truckloads of FOIA requests if they did not charge. I
- am not aware of an agency that does not charge for FOIA info.
- Also, fulfilling FOIA requests is an administrative nightmare
- and requires more work than one might think. It isn't just a
- matter of someone going in the back room and pulling out a file.
- If anyone could just walk in and request FOIA info, everyone
- would be fulfilling FOIA requests instead of doing their job.
