  8. This exclusive demo for World Cup Golf contains only one hole and all
  9. the front end options have been disabled. The complete game contains
  10. all 18 holes accurately modelled on the exclusive Dorado Beach golf
  11. resort.

  15. PROBLEMS WITH VESA DRIVERS
  16. --------------------------

  18. World Cup Golf requires a VESA compliant graphics card in order to
  19. function correctly. Most modern graphics cards either support the VESA
  20. standard via built-in software or by using a specific driver which
  21. must be loaded before running World Cup Golf.
  22.  
  23. We have provided a number of VESA drivers with the game which cover
  24. the most common graphics cards on the market. If World Cup Golf does
  25. not function correctly, you should run the driver corresponding to
  26. your graphics card from those provided.

  30. USING A VESA DRIVER
  31. -------------------

  33. (1) Determine which graphics card is fitted to your machine. If you
  34.     have any doubts, contact the makers of your computer or U.S.
  35.     Gold's Technical Support department.
  36.  
  37. (2) Locate the correct VESA driver for your graphics card from those
  38.     provided with the game.
  39.  
  40. (3) If the VESA driver ends with the extensions COM or EXE, simply
  41.     type the name of the driver to run it.
  42.  
  43.         e.g. IF the driver is called TLIVESA.EXE, type TLIVESA
  44.  
  45. (4) If the VESA driver ends with the extension SYS, you will need to
  46.     add a new line to your CONFIG.SYS file to run the driver. IF you
  47.     are unsure of how how to do this, contact U.S. Gold's Technical
  48.     Support department.

  50. (5) If no driver is provided for your graphics card, try the universal
  51.     driver in the UNIVESA sub-directory.
  52.  
  53. (6) If you still have problems or are unsure of any of the steps
  54.     outlined above, please contact U.S. Gold's Technical Support
  55.     department on 021-326-6418 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

  59. ADDENDA

  62. Between producing the manual and finishing World Cup Golf, a few
  63. changes were made to the game. These feature and changes are not
  64. mentioned in the manual, so here are explanations for each of them.
  65.  
  66. (1) Using The Review Player Menu (see chapter 5 - The Review Player
  67.     Menu), you can only change handicap and clubs.
  68.  
  69. (2) Using the practice facilities (see chapter 5 - Practice
  70.     Facilities), the Play All Holes options has been removed.
  71.  
  72. (3) An Autosave facility has now been implemented in the game to
  73.     prevent you from losing the data from your current game in the
  74.     event of a power cut or accidently switching off your machine.
  75.     This facility will save your current game into the 10th savegame
  76.     slot, which is marked with an '*', at the start of the next hole.
  77.  
  78.     You can now no longer save a game into the 10th slot manually but
  79.     the game is re-loaded in the normal way.

  81. (4) Joystick control has been implemented for certain functions within
  82.     the game. However, please note that Icons cannot be moved around
  83.     the screen with the joystick and the Land LSI indicator cannot be
  84.     used.

  86. (5) To accomodate the varying initialisation times of different CD-ROM
  87.     drives we have included a Command-Line-Switch which allows you to
  88.     alter the length of the pause between CD swaps. The pause time is
  89.     currently set to 15 seconds but if you have a fast CD-ROM drive
  90.     you may wich to reduce this time.
  91.  
  92.     Alternatively, if you have a very slow drive and experience
  93.     problems during CD swapping, you may wish to lengthen the pause.

  95.     To use the switch type CDGOLF to run the game, followed by a
  96.     number between 5 and 200 for the number of seconds -
