SIMS
(Stalker Internet Mail Server)
is a Mac-based SMTP and POP3 mail server.

Mailing lists
Using AutoShare with SIMS
SIMS 1.5 and AutoShare 1.4 (or later) are needed.
The following configuration is for setting up a sample list server list named Fun-L. If you would like to set up an auto-response, no configuration is needed for the List Server folder, plus the Filed Mail folder configuration applies to the auto-response name rather than a list name.
As SIMS currently doesn't allow you to specify absolute folder paths for Folder Only (Save As Files in EIMS) and Distribution Mirror (Mailing List in EIMS) accounts, my recommendation is that you apply Finder aliases to make it work (a logical, yet somewhat elaborate solution). If you have a better suggestion, please drop

The following has been updated to be accurate for SIMS 1.6, released on March 3 1998.
The Filed Mail folder
In SIMS (actually Communigator), create a Folder Only account named Fun-L, which creates a file named Fun-L in the SIMS Accounts folder. In Finder, create an alias to the AutoShare Filed Mail folder, move the alias file to the Accounts folder inside the SIMS Folder and rename it to Fun-L@F (this will work as a Save As Files account in EIMS).
The Incoming Mail folder
Specify the AutoShare Incoming Mail folder as a path to the SIMS Submitted folder (Incoming Mail folder in EIMS) inside the Accounts folder.
The List Server folder
Create a subscriber list file named Fun-L in the AutoShare List Server folder. In SIMS, create two accounts named Fun-L.m and Fun-L.d and enable the Mirror Mail To Distribution List option for both, which creates two files named Fun-L.m and Fun-L.d in the SIMS Accounts folder.
In Finder, create two empty files named Fun-L.m and Fun-L.d files in the AutoShare List Server folder. Create Finder aliases for the two files, move the alias files into the SIMS Accounts folder and rename them to Fun-L.m@L and Fun-L.d@L.
Note: do not delete the Fun-L.m and Fun-L.d files in the AutoShare List Server folder, as aliases inside the SIMS Accounts folder point to them. When creating new .m (message) and .d (digest) lists, AutoShare overwrites their data forks.
The Unknown account in SIMS
If you would like to configure SIMS to pass messages sent to unknown accounts onto AutoShare,
create a user account called Unknown configured as Folder Only, which creates a file named Unknown in the SIMS Accounts folder. In this folder, create also a folder alias named Unknown@F pointing to AutoShare's Filed Mail folder.
