Tabs

The Tabs Settings page contains controls used to define the behavior of the tabs at the top of each file panel.  The following controls are defined:

Show tabs when there is only one tab

The [ ] Show Tabs When There Is Only One Tab checkbox controls if the tabs are displayed when there is only one tab for a file panel.  If the control is checked then tabs are always displayed.  If the control is unchecked then the Tab Bar will not be displayed for file panels that only have one tab.

The defaults value for this setting is "unchecked".

Use multiline tabs

The [ ] Use Multiline Tabs control specifies whether all tabs will be displayed in a single line or if space is needed new lines of tabs will be added.

When this control is unchecked and the width of the tabs exceed the width of the file panel with which they are associated then only the number of tabs that fit in the width of the associated file panel will be displayed.  A left and right pair of button controls will be displayed at the right end of the tabs to allow maneuvering through the list.

The default value for this setting is "unchecked".

Double-click closes the tab

The [ ] Double-Click Closes The Tab checkbox controls whether or not double left clicking on a tab will close that tab or not.  When checked this setting will allow double left clicks on a tab to close that tab.  When unchecked tabs must be closed using the Delete Tab command.

The default value for this setting is "checked".

All tabs the same width

The [ ] All Tabs The Same Width checkbox controls whether each tab is the width of it's name (display text) or whether all tabs are of equal width.  When this setting is checked then all tabs for each individual file panel are of equal width.
The tabs split up the width of the associated file panel equally.  If two tabs are open in a particular file panel then each of the two tabs will be 1/2 the width of the file panel.  If five tabs are open then each tab will be allocated 1/5 the width of the file panel.  The tab name will be centered or truncated as need to fit in the tab space.

The default value of this setting is "unchecked".

Min tab width (px)

The Min Tab Width setting controls the minimum tab width in pixels.  This value can be in the range of "10" to "1000".  When unchecked the minimum value is not enforced.

The default value for this setting is "42".

Max tab width (px)

The Max Tab Width setting controls the maximum tab width in pixels.  This value can be in the range of "10" to "1000".  When unchecked the maximum value is unenforced.

The default value for this setting is "100".

Use system colors for tabs

The [ ] Use System Colors For Tabs checkbox controls whether to use the Window's system colors for rendering the tabs or to use the user defined colors.

When this setting is checked Just Manager will use the Windows's system wide color scheme.  When it is unchecked the program will use the tab colors defined in Configuration/Fonts And Colors settings values.

The default for this setting is "checked".

Close unlocked tabs on exit

The [ ] Close Unlocked Tabs On Exit setting, when checked, will cause all unlocked tabs to automatically be closed whenever Just Manager is exited.

As with the Delete All Tabs command, at least one tab will remain open.

The default value for this setting is "unchecked".

Reset Locked (nav allowed) tabs on selection change

The [ ] Reset Locked (nav allowed) tabs on selection change setting, when checked, will cause the locked tab, on reselection after another tab has been selected, to return to the folder that was selected when the tab was initially locked.  If unchecked the tab simply retains the tab name from when it was locked.

The default value for this setting is "checked".

Locked Tabs

The Locked Tabs section controls how locked tabs are displayed (globally) in Just Manager.

Show lock icons

The ( ) Show Lock Icons radio control, when selected, will cause the lock icon to be displayed to the left of the tab name when the tab is locked.

Show lock symbol

The ( ) Show Lock Symbol radio control, when selected, will cause the character defined in the associated editbox to be prepended to the tab name when the tab is locked.

The default setting for this control is (*) Show Lock Icons.
