"We are very honored to be among the recipients of this highly prestigious award," said said Dan Avida, president and CEO of EFI. "Fiery technology has enabled the short-run color printing market, providing new ways for designers to envision their work. With the Fiery XJ, we set out to make the best product of its kind - not only in terms of performance and value, but also functionality and aesthetics. For the last 17 years, the IDSA has given Industrial Design Excellence Award to companies in a variety of industries. Winners are chosen by a jury of industrial designers sponsored by IDSA. Criteria for selecting the award include innovation, benefit to users, benefits to clients and ecological responsibility, as well as appropriate aesthetics and visual appeal. Past winners include Xerox, Apple Computer, Ford and IBM. IDSA award winners are announced in today's issue of Business Week magazine.
