Dr. Yelena Yesha - Career History
- 1995-present: Professor (tenured), University of Maryland Baltimore County, Department of Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering.
- 1994-present: Director, Center of Excellence
in Space Data and Information Sciences (CESDIS), as a contract to the University of Maryland Baltimore County. My appointment as Director of CESDIS is the outcome of a national search that was advertized in the May 1994 issue of the Communications of the ACM.
- 1994-1995: Associate Professor (tenured), University of Maryland Baltimore County, Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
- 1995-Present: Professor, University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies, College Park (UMIACS).
- 1994: Director of the Center for Applied Information Technology (CAIT) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The mission of the center is to advance the goals of the National Information Infrastructure (NII) by identifying, developing, and demonstrating critical new technologies and their applications which can be successfully commercialized by U.S. Industry.
- 1993-1994: Senior Computer Scientist and Project Leader, National Institute of Standards and Technology. Project Leader for Electronic Commerce, and for Digital Libraries. This project involves collaborations that I have developed with top major U.S. universities, and with leading U.S. companies.
- 1989-1994: Assistant Professor, University of Maryland Baltimore County, Department of Computer Science.
- 1993-1994: Assistant Professor, University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies, College Park (UMIACS).
- 1993: Consultant, Center for Excellence in Space Data and Information Sciences (CESDIS), NASA/Goddard.
- 1992-1993: Senior Computer Scientist, National Institute of Standards and Technology.
- 1984-1989: Graduate Teaching Associate, The Ohio State University, Department of Computer and Information Science.
