The NASA HPCC Annual Report for 1997

A Summary of Annual Technical Accomplishments

The NASA HPCC Program produces, at the close of the each Federal Government Fiscal Year, an Annual Report. This report highlights activities and accomplishments during the previous year. These reports have been published on the World Wide Web since FY1994 . The content is organized by project.

The NASA HPCC Program is structured to contribute to broad Federal efforts while addressing agency-specific computational problems called Grand Challenges. NASA provides resources to develop tools to solve Grand Challenges in four HPCC project areas: Computational Aerosciences (CAS), Earth and Space Sciences (ESS), Remote Exploration and Experimentation (REE), and Information Infrastructure Technology and Applications (IITA). An additional component, the NASA Research and Education Network (NREN) supports these four projects.
