Day 007 - 06 Jul 94 - Page 22
1 setting those calculations out in that vivid way? What
were you intending to show?
2 A. I was trying to show to McDonald's what relative
consumption of the material we were relative to the total
3 industry; that it was a relatively insignificant total
consumption.
4
Q. Can we see how, despite that relative insignificance,
5 McDonald's use of HCFCs and indeed CFCs has progressed
over the years? For this purpose, you need the pink
6 bundle, large Roman IV on the spine. This, I fear, is a
very cumbersome fat file. My solicitors have over filled
7 it in their enthusiasm to get the papers in.
8 If you would not mind turning to the back, to tab 20,
these are not in chronological order, I fear, but it does
9 not matter. Can you turn first to the tab marked 20A?
A. Yes.
10
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can I point this out -- it may make no
11 difference -- that I have 489A written on the sheet you
gave me last night, and that is the page number we have
12 for 20A.
A. Yes.
13
MR. JUSTICE BELL: If, in fact, it is just a better copy of 489
14 at 20, I can throw my present page away.
15 MR. MORRIS: They are different dates.
16 MR. RAMPTON: No, my Lord, they are different dates. We have
tried to do it for every year since 1989.
17
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Should the sheet I put in for February 3rd
18 1994 be in tab 20 or 20A?
19 MR. RAMPTON: It should really be tab 20.
20 MR. JUSTICE BELL: If I change 489A to 489(i), that will avoid
confusion.
21
MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, that will avoid confusion. Your
22 Lordship will find two additional sheets (or should do)
for 1992 and 1991.
23
MR. MORRIS: 489 was changed to 489(i)?
24
MR. JUSTICE BELL: No. What you have as 489 originally is
25 still 489. The sheet we were handed last night had 489A
on it. That has been changed to 489(i) because there
26 already was a 489A in tab 20A.
27 MR. RAMPTON: They cover the years, they are dated September
23rd 1991?
28 A. Yes.
29 Q. That is at the top of the page. At the bottom May 21st,
1992?
30 A. Correct.
