Q. There are, however, still 22 countries using HCFCs 22?
2 A. Also correct.
3 Q. We notice in Latin America that there are a number of
countries using HCFCs 22, do you see that?
4 A. Yes, several.
5 Q. All hydrocarbons, and that only two, Argentina and El
Salvador, are using paper board?
6 A. Yes.
7 Q. On the right hand column, we see a whole list of dates for
phase-out of foam?
8 A. Yes.
9 Q. What is the reason for that?
A. At that point in time McDonald's US had announced its

Q. Do you know why Latin America followed suit or intended to

20 A. Yes.
21 Q. Right?
A. Correct.
22
Q. That the number using HCFCs has been reduced to nine?
23 A. Yes, a dramatic reduction in Latin America especially.
24 Q. Except one, Venezuela, the whole of Latin America is using
paper?
25 A. Yes.
26 Q. Venezuela is using hydrocarbon?
A. Correct.
27
Q. Turn on to 489F: January 14th 1993, still (as one perhaps
28 might expect) no CFCs, still nine HCFCs, and Venezuela
being the sole user of hydrocarbons still in Latin
29 America?
A. Yes.
30
Q. So, broadly speaking, not much change between these two
