     5        A.  Yes, it does.

     7   Q.   Do you have within McDonald's for the moment -- I am going
     8        to move outside McDonald's briefly in just a moment --
     9        staying with McDonald's for the moment, do you have the
    10        opportunity to exercise your full range of knowledge and
    11        expertise within the Corporation?
    12        A.  Yes, I do.

    14   Q.   I will come back to McDonald's in a moment.  First of all,
    15        do you have an opportunity now that you work for
    16        McDonald's, to reach a wider audience with the matters in
    17        which you are scientifically qualified?
    18        A.  Absolutely.

    20   Q.   Give us some idea of the sorts of things that you have been
         able to do?
    22        A.  I have been able to give, to participate in
    23        international food safety symposiums worldwide, in Mexico.
    24        I have participated in scientific presentations in the US.
    25        I have been invited to supplier meetings throughout the
    26        world.  I have worked extensively in the area of food
    27        safety in the US and I have published scientific papers.

    30   Q.   Has any of your work, leaving aside what you do actually
    31        for McDonald's, been nationally or internationally
    32        recognised?
    33        A.  Yes, it has.

    35   Q.   Have you had contact with the US DA, Department of
    36        Agriculture?
    37        A.  Yes, I have extensive contacts with the US Department
    38        of Agriculture.

    40   Q.   Have you worked with them on new systems for quality
         control?
    42        A.  Yes, I have.

    44   Q.   What is the present position about the systems of quality
    45        control on which you have worked with the US DA?
    46        A.  We have been working extensively with the US Department
    47        of Agriculture in the area of food safety from the
    48        development of the best processing controls or process
    49        controls to funding research to find out the best methods
    50        to control or to improve food safety.  We have shared a lot 
    51        of information, research information, our global research 
    52        database with the US Department of Agriculture which has 
    53        resulted in several modifications to the current laws where
    54        they have, for example, a new regulation that changed the
    55        cooking temperature of beef patties where a lot of the data
    56        work came from our researching and from our funding for
    57        that research.

    59   Q.   When you say "our research", who do you mean by "we" or
    60        "our"?
